Pros: Quick and Easy Setup, 4 wired SWITCHED ports, instant wireless, highly configurable, removable antennas Cons: wireless enabled by default
Linksys I think was one of the first to come out with a cable modem router, and then companies followed suite. I still think Linksys has the most user friendly (for the uneducated computer user) interface around. I remember seeing Netgears and others...

Pros: Removes the hassle of wiring and gives the ability to connect multiple units. Cons: Wireless networking in general is more expensive than wired.
I recently moved into a new home with a DSL connection. Since we were about to become a multi-computer household, I began looking into my options. My only two options were to use the DSL on only one computer at a time, or to create my own network.

Pros: Good price, complete ease of installation. Cons: Range is good but not great, seems to require restart every so often.
If you are a beginner or someone just wanting to install a wireless networking solution in your house, this is for you.
For the price, you get four hardwire connections. A lot of new construction homes now come with network wiring installed...

Pros: Share a cable modem without the cables.
NAT firewall adds security. Cons: **CORRUPTION USING NetBEUI**
Poor tech support.
We were offered a 3-month free trial of Comcast@home cable internet access (in the same way that drug dealers give out the first fix for free). I decided to give it ago but, unfortunately, my wife saw how quick the cable connection was and decided that...

Pros: Very easy to install. Works well with Windows 98, 2000, and XP. Cons: Bad range. May have to buy a signal booster if you live in a house.
To make the story short, I have two desktop PCs and a laptop. Using cable modem, I had to be in the room where the cable modem box is, and swap the cable between my desktop and laptop in order to get connected to the internet.
I had been...

Wireless Network Router Reviews iBlitzz and Linksys
Recently the need to move a computer into another section of the house that I had not previously wired and my lack of interest in crawling beneath the house to run cable prompted me to...

Pros: Speed, Reliability, Features, Easy Setup Cons: Honestly none!
I can’t say enough about this piece of equipment. The reviews here speak for themselves! This has made my life a whole lot easier – no longer am I dialing up on two PCs and only being able to use my cable internet on one – I have cable on all PCs!

Pros: Works as advertised, good range of interface products available Cons: Initial set-up was a bit difficult
I was upgrading from an older Linksys wired hub/router as I needed to connect a remote PC and decided on 802.11b.
Unfortunately, out of the box, I was unable to get the unit working with my Comcast cable modem. The older unit continued to work...

Pros: Parts of it are easy to set up. Once working - wireless is great. Cons: Most incredibly horrible customer service I've seen from just about any company.
Call me old fashioned. Call me a cranky old fart (well, not real old, I'm under 40 still). Call me demanding (but I'm not), but I believe in financially supporting only those companies that support ME, the customer.
The Story

Pros: No more CAT5 cables strung all over the house! Cons: Ties up 2.4 GHz frequency in the house.
As a hardware geek, the number of PC's around the house keeps growing. I've had them networked for years, but have had to run CAT5 lines through the basement and crawl space to achieve this. Recently I've been remodeling the basement and decided that...

Pros: Easy setup, good looks, flawless performance Cons: Not the best tech support (but will you need it?)
Once you setup this Linksys router, you'll never have to think about it again. Once I took it out of the box, I was up and running within a matter of minutes. The only times I've ever had to worry about it since then was when I wanted to change...

Pros: Designed to use for a monkey.
Intuitive interface for advanced configuration.
Good security options. Cons: Still looking.
I have worked with several routers and switches. As a whole, I am impressed with the "tried and true" nature of linksys. I have been in contact with the support desk about the BEFSR41 Router (non-wireless brother of this one). The help was superior....
