Pros: Very good mapping, lots and lots of waypoints, very rugged.
Cons: Electronic compass doesn't work very well. The unit is a battery hog.
My son and I are geocachers. I was looking for a GPS receiver that was rugged, could hold a lot of waypoints, had an electronic compass, and had good mapping capabilities. I purchased this unit with Lowrance's optional topographic mapping software and I have been very happy with it. It does everything I was hoping for and have been very happy with it except for the electronic compass which is basically useless.
With a 1 gig sd card I have the maps for the entire State of Oklahoma plus North Central Texas and a bunch of other states with plenty to spare. The user interface, although a little geeky, gives me lots of options on what I want the unit to do plus configure the display any way that I want.
I am totally happy with the unit except for the electronic compass and would recommend it to anybody for geocaching.
