Pros: Good acting, exciting action Cons: Plot a little too complex
Summary: The career of Kevin Costner has been baffling to me over the years. He has made some of my favorite films such as "Dances With Wolves", "Fields of Dreams" and "Bull Durham". But he has also starred and directed some of the all-time loser films of the ... read more

Pros: Keven Costner/William Hurt- very effective portrayal of the title character. Several surprises. Cons: One or two of the sub-plots were predictable
Summary: I really didn't know what to expect of Kevin Costner's "Mr Brooks", except for some vague reviews and movie trailers. I knew that Costner was playing against type as a serial killer, but that was all I knew. However, the movie was an excellent one ... read more

Pros: Costners' and Hurts' brilliant performances; mostly smart script. Cons: Script has a few forgivable holes.
Summary: If ever there were a picture of the wholesome American male in the dictionary few men would be able to pose; most assuredly Denzel Washington and Kevin Costner would qualify. That is why it is so (refreshingly) surprising to see Costner portray a serial ... read more

Pros: Acting, Directing, Cinematography, & Screenplay Cons: Plot was too busy... could have used a good editor.
Summary: Remember that inner voice inside? The moral, upright one that society hopes our respective mother’s instilled in us at a young age and that God fearing denizens hope govern our every thought and action. Now, try to remember that voice that whispered to ... read more

Pros: emotionally satisfying, with good subplots and excellent performances Cons: shamelessly steals from three other films, slow pace, not so much shocking as entertaining
Summary: There's a darkness to Kevin Costner that co-exists with the light - at least when it comes to the roles he plays. Whether it's a conscious decision to avoid Meg Ryannia or a working out of some inner demons, Costner has balanced his boy-scout roles ... read more

Pros: Original concept, good twists Cons: Reminded me too much of the BTK killer
Summary: Mr. Brooks stars Kevin Costner as a serial killer who is also a successful businessman, husband, and father. In both his personal and professional life, he seems like a perfectly normal guy, but he has a cruel addiction to murder and he can’t ... read more

Pros: Costner and Hurt by themselves make the movie watchable. Cons: Demi Moore's character really holds the film down and takes time away from Costner.
Summary: Mr. Brooks is a bold and unique idea for a character study; no question about that. It gives you a interesting insight into the mind of a serial killer by throwing a schizophrenic or multiple personality syndrome twist into the mix. Its ... read more

Pros: Witnessing Costner expand his range. Another brilliant performance by William Hurt. Cons: Dane Cook's acting, also a sometimes lagging plot
Summary: As soon as I read these mysterious words I was instantly sucked into this mind twisting psychological thriller. Mr. Earl Brooks, played by Kevin Costner, is a very wealthy business owner who has quite a serious problem: he's addicted to killing people. ... read more

Pros: Not a bad psychological thriller Cons: Demi Moore and her plot lines
Summary: You Had Me at Movie We were standing in line at the theater and I had to turn to my husband to ask him what movie we were seeing. Why? As soon as he suggested we go to a movie I didn't hear a word after that; I simply started searching for a last ... read more

Pros: acting, plot, cinematography Cons: Would have liked a better ending.
Summary: Mr. Brooks is a smart Jekyll and Hyde type thriller. I like the smart way it was filmed and edited and some of cinematography (especially in the fight scenes) was tight. The plot while sounding ridiculous in a summary works rather well. And the acting ... read more

Pros: Demi Moore's strong female character and acting, Kevin Costner, Dane Cook were good Cons: William Hurt's character was very irritating, some music score pieces
Summary: I am not crazy about Kevin Costner. William Hurt is one of my favorite actors but to be honest, he really annoyed me in this film - even though almost every review praises his role - I will probably be the first to say he was irritating to me. And I have ... read more

Pros: Well developed characters and plot.
Kevin Costner and an excellent supporting cast. Cons: Slow in the beginning.
Summary: I've always liked Kevin Costner's films, and this is no exception. It started off slowly, but eventually built up enough suspense and mystery to make it
