Nice product for a quick cleaning by algeorge ,Nov 22 '04
Pros: Nice fresh scent, adjustable pole length, mobility of swivel sponge head. Cons: Didn't walk away with feeling that I got the bathroom really deep down cleaned.
I got this product in the mail as a sample-- when I saw it I was really excited to use it. However, the assembly is not as easy as I was hoping. I like a product that you can take out of the box and just snap together and you're done--- this appeared to be that way, until I started fiddling with it. It took me a good 15 minutes if not more to figure it out!!
Once together, it's a very easy product to use. I like how it gets into tough to reach places in the bathroom corners and behind the toilet.
For a deep down cleaning, I feel as if I needed a little bit more scrubbing action.
Mr. Clean MagicReach Starter Kit by jclaise81 ,Nov 20 '04
Pros: Good for cleaning floors, nice smell Cons: Assembly, pads not strong enough, head swivels around too much
I have to disagree with a lot of these people - I really didn't like this product, which I got as a free testing sample, and probably wouldn't use it again.
The assembly wasn't terribly hard, but it did take me a minute to figure out how to set it up. Once I started to use it in the shower, the "flexible" head starting flipping around all over the place. Also, the scrubbing pad didn't seem strong enough to remove the soap scum.
It works much better as simply a handheld product, except for when I used it to clean the floor - it was pretty useful for that.
Overall, it's not a bad product, but I personally prefer something simpler. I wouldn't purchase it on my own.
Pros: You didn't have to kneel or bend over while scrubbing the tub. Cons: The locking mechanism could've been stronger on the handle extension.
Overall, I liked the Mr. Clean MagicReach. Once the soap was activated with water, it cleaned really well. However, I found that it worked better as a tub cleaner than as a mop.
Pros: Easy to use, can be used for multiple tasks, good reach.
Cons: Needs a stronger cleaning pad for showers/tubs with tough soap scum.
I like the concept of this product. It was nice to not have to kneel and lean into the tub to clean it. It's handy for mopping also, which makes it good for cleaning the whole bathroom with just one tool. My only complaint would be the strength of the tub cleaner. I need something a little stronger to cut through soap scum. Otherwise, I thought it worked well and the pads left the bathroom smelling really clean.
Pros: Extendable, easy to use even with swollen hands, can reach anywhere. Cons: Blue head could be a little more flexible.
This thing is awesome. I use a wheelchair a significant portion of the time and this thing allows me to clean the showers, bathtub, sink, floor, everything! I don't even have to get off my chair to do it, I can just extend the wand. I would love for it to extend another foot or so, but as is, it's greatly helpful. The level of bathroom cleanliness since I was injured has gone WAY up after finding this product.
Efficient back and knee saving product by cardmakinmom ,May 19 '06
Pros: textured pad, shape of head, ease of assembly Cons: none
I thought it was easy to assemble and easy to use. I bought it to save stress on my arthritic knees and back and it did just that. The shape of the head and the pre-soaped textured pad make quick and easy work of the soap scum on two tub/shower combo's. I was pleasantly surprised I had enough soap for both. The pad was still in great shape so I rinsed it off and will use my own Mr. Clean cleaning products with it in the future. The pre-moistened pad for floors left no streaks and the head fits nicely around the rounded base of the toilet and saved me from having to bend and reach behind the toilet.
Great product/Very useful cleaning tool by jfrowen ,Nov 21 '04
Pros: Flexible cleaning head, extension pole, multi-surface capability. Cons: The tub/shower cleaning pads aren't sufficient to battle tough grime and soap scum.
I just finished cleaning my tub with the Mr. Clean Magic Reach. I'm ashamed to say that it had been some time since I thoroughly cleaned my bath/shower, so I knew it would be a good test for it!
Overall, I think the product is quite a good cleaning tool. I used it without the long handle first to get down on my hands and knees and scrub. It worked very well for that purpose, but I don't think it has a sufficient scrubbing surface or power on the pad. I had to combine it with another cleaner in order to the grit, grime, and soap scum in the dirtiest areas of the tub. I added the telescoping pole to reach the higher sides of the tub/shower, and it worked very well.
The Mr. Clean Magic Reach Kit does an amazing job at cleaning the bathroom. by mktjess ,Jan 04 '05
Pros: Long-reach pole for hard-to-reach cleaning, powerful cleaning product really gets grime and soap scum off. Cons: Pole was a bit hard to snap into place initially.
I put together the Mr. Clean Magic Reach Kit fairly easily. Snapping the button into place was a bit difficult at first, but once it snapped in, it stayed in. I decided to clean the soap scum off the shower.
The soap scum, which is usually extremely hard to scrub off, actually came right off. I loved the long brush as it reached to the top of the shower, which I can never reach by myself. The doors and tiles were gleaming. It did an amazing job at cleaning it off. I've tried a few different cleaners and this one really outperformed the others. It's as much as a lot of other cleaners out there, but it beats it not only with the cleaning product, but also the long-reach brush, which can also snap off when you really want to scrub. Great product!
Pros: No bucket, no smelly dirty mop to rinse. Cons: Base does not come off the handle; can't do sinks or counters.
I cannot for the life of me get the bottom base off the handle. Both my husband I tried pushing in the two blue buttons...nothing. Annoying because I can't use it for counters or sinks!
Also, the base does swivel around when scrubbing the tub. I wish it could lock in place when needed.
Otherwise, I love it.....no bucket, no smelly, dirty mop.
Nice invention.
Very disappointed in this product by tinaharvest ,Mar 16 '05
Pros: I know not to waste any more time or money on this product. Cons: It just plain is a bad product.
I light candles in my bathroom, so I have a lot of smoke build-up in there on my walls and ceiling. It's a small bathroom, so I wanted to try the new Mr. Clean Magic Reach starter kit to reach where I couldn't, namely, the walls above my shower and my ceilings. I was glad I kept the receipt for this joke, because it's going back this weekend. I had to safety pin the cleaning pad onto the head in order to get it to stay, and then when I got it to stay on there, it took a while to even get the pad to start foaming. When it did, then I got a lot of foamy dirt on my ceiling--how do you rinse something like this? It took a long time for me to get the ceiling scrubbed, as the head didn't really make contact with the ceiling the way that I'd wanted it to. As I tried to "rinse" the ceiling by using the pad after I got all of the foam out of it, dirty water dripped down on my head.
This product was easy to assemble. It does a great job cleaning - my shower stall was shiny and smelled nice. I don't have tiles, so I don't know how it would have cleaned those.
I was very annoyed that the cleaning pad kept twisting and hanging off when I moved the pole around. There is only one place to attach the pad - there should be more.
Pros: Pole allows you to stand while cleaner, pads are very fragrant and last Cons: Iron shaped scrubber a little bulky around certain areas
I was asked to test this and found it much like the swiffer except for the detachable scrubber. It worked nicely on the flat part of floors and it DID smell clean. When it came to doing the bathtub it just did not have a mobility needed and the shape of the scrubber part didn't allow for bathtub corners to get clean.
We got this as a test from Hass MS&L. Frankly cleaning is not what we like doing, so we gave the Kit to our housekeeper who is so efficient and knowledgeable about organizing our cluttered home that when she's done our home looks like a showroom model home. Here's what she had to say:
The adjustable pole is very good and practical for easy use at various heights.
The hand tool is very convenient for cleaning in tight corners as well as on curved surfaces.
The pads are very strong and can be used in many different areas. Additionally, the scent is quite pleasant.
All in all, it gets her 100% approval rating - and that's quite a rating for someone as great as she is
Pros: Worked great in the shower & tub area Cons: Did not work well in the sink or small tiled floor.
I bought the Mr. Clean Magic Reach because I, like other people, HATE cleaning the bathroom with a passion. I found that the shower scrub worked excellent in the shower & tub, however i had a little trouble with the mopping pad on the floor and sink. I found that the mopping pad did alright on my floors (I have small tiled floors, not fun for ANYONE to clean) but I found it did not pick up much while using, more like it just pushed dirt around. I definitely found this product worth my money, if only to use for cleaning the shower.
Pros: Flexible cleaning head and left the bathroom smelling fresh Cons: Having to rinse the shower stall after cleaning
Overall, I think the Mr. Clean MagicReach is a good product. Since I'm tall, I really don't need the long pole. However, it was very handy to get behind the commode -- better than having to get on my knees. Actually, it also made cleaning the ceiling of the shower stall a bit easier, also. I did not like having to rinse the shower stall after cleaning it because I don't have a removable shower head. A definite disadvantage. I didn't have a great deal of scum in the shower stall, so the cleaning pad did a pretty good job. The long pole is also convenient for cleaning the bathroom floor. My bathroom is relatively small, so the pad did an adequate job. I like the flexible cleaning head, and the citrus smell left my bathroom smelling fresh. I think this product works best for light, quick cleaning.
Mr. Clean Magic Reach-Excellent!!! by crazycajungirl ,Jan 05 '05
Pros: Liked the ability to clean tubs & showers easily. Cons: None
I received the Mr. Clean Magic Reach as a sample test product. I really liked it because it made cleaning the showers & tubs easier for me. I have arthritis and the ease at which I was able to clean made a tremendous difference. I found it easy to assemble and use. I am however having problems finding the replacement pads for it. If anyone has any idea how to get them, please let me know.
Got the pads at Walmart 5/05
Pros: I was able to get to the top of the shower. Cons: Too much for the pads, doesn't get the corners.
I fear that my review won't sound as professional as some of the others here, but here goes. I found it very difficult to put together. There were pictures, but the pieces of the pole did not "snap together" as easily as implied.
The shower cleaning went pretty well, I like that I was able to reach to the ceiling, but I found that I couldn't get into the tight corners at the edges of the tub. The fact that you have to rinse it off is kind of a drag too.
I didn't like the floor cleaning pads at all. I found they left a film on the floor, and they were way too soapy. Again, I couldn't get the edges with the cleaning head.
Pros: Easy assembly, pleasant smell & easy storage. Pads drying out is not a concern. Cons: I still haven't found anyone to clean for me! Needs a heavy duty scrubbing pad.
I really like my Mr. Clean MagicReach! It worked great on the mildew that had built up on the painted walls from the steam and did a wonderful job with the curved corners of my tub without me having to break my back.
I like that you can reach everything in the shower and tub to clean them from outside the tub area. I was always having to stand in the harsh chemicals that I used before and it was hard on my body!
loved the Mr. Clean Magic Reach by bobrownsmom ,Dec 01 '04
Pros: easy to use, pole comes in handy, pointed top helps get into corners, fresh scent Cons: isn't able to deep clean, best for a quick clean
Mr. Clean Magic Reach will be a must in our household from now on. It comes with a pole (which you do not have to use if you'd rather not) to help you reach hard-to-reach places like the tiles high up above the shower or behind the toilet. It was easy to use. I definitely recommend it.
Pros: Pole extension for hard to reach tile in showers, and w\swivel gets the ledge. Cons: A bit difficult to take some of the pole pieces apart.
I really liked using this product. All the pieces were literally a "snap" to put together, but I had some difficulty taking them apart.
I liked not having to get my hands wet with cleaning solution when I used it to clean my bathtub; I used it without any pole extensions, and it worked great.
I particularly like the pole extension to do the tile in the showers; being I am very short, it was not a reach for me to get all the way up the tile, and to get to the ledge where the tile ends, nor did I not have to stand in the shower while doing this, which I especially liked.
Needless to say, the cleaning pads worked great, as well; all around, I'd say that I am pleased, and this is a very efficient product.
Mr. Clean Wins Battle Over Soap Scum by stephlsh ,Sep 06 '05
Pros: I can reach all the way up the shower wall! Cons: The scrubbing pad smell was a bit strong for my small windowless bathroom.
My shower is 3/12 walls of floor to ceiling tile. I have never been able to get the soap scum off until I tried the Magic Reach. My tiles are shiny again. It even worked on the orange hard water stains in the grout, though I had to use a brush to finish that job. I was worried the pole would be awkward to handle, but it is sturdier than I expected and pivots really easily.
I wasn't even going to try to use the floor pads because similar products have always left the floor feeling pasty. This one did not. It dried fast & clean.
Pros: Quick assembly, nice scent, and works well Cons: none.
I've been using the Mr. Clean Magic Reach in my bathroom and I love it. It really does a wonderful job of cleaning the floors, I'm so glad I don't have to break out the mop and the bucket when I want to have a nice, clean floor. It picked up everything on my floors leaving them without a speck of dust or dirt. It also does a wonderful job in the shower, it makes cleaning the shower go much faster than before. I really enjoyed the scent, it wasn't too strong nor did it smell too chemically. It was pretty easy to put together and the pad slips right on and then right off and into the garbage. I highly recommend it.
best cleaning tool for everyone by jscott51 ,Feb 04 '06
Pros: cleaner bathroom Cons: maybe a bit bigger head for it
my least favorite job in the house is cleaning the bathroom tub
this is the future cleaning tool for me

Mr. Clean is now Versatile! by lbates77 ,Nov 25 '04
Pros: Very Versatile. I like that I can use it by hand or use the handle. Cons: Didn't clean rougher surfaces as great.
The greatest thing ever invented. I just love the Mr. Clean MagicReach. I can use it for all my needs because it is so versatile. It is great for floors, tubs, showers, and hard to reach corners in any place I have to clean. The pole/handle can be extended to 4 feet, so I can even get spots that are out of reach. The coolest thing would be the shape of the head and the fact I have the option to clean by hand or with the handle. And of course, the Multipurpose cleaning pads are disposable. I just love it.
I just wish it would clean rougher surfaces like the grout in between the tiles better.
Mr. Clean Magic Reach - What a GREAT product! by lillucey ,May 28 '06
Pros: Long pole gives ability to clean low places standing up rather than kneeling. Cons: None that I can even think of!
The Mr. Clean Magic Reach was the best investment I've made in a cleaning product in a very long time. I have Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome, and therefore have very little physical strength or endurance. Kneeling to clean my bathtub literally took me an hour and then I would literally have to take a nap when I was done.
With the Mr. Clean Magic Reach, I was able to clean the inside half of the tub standing up, and the far side sitting on the toilet with the lid closed and the entire process took me all of five minutes! I don't generally review products, but this has made such a difference in my own self-sufficiency that I felt compelled to write about how good it is.!
If one has problems with strength and endurance, this is definitely the product for you!
Mr. Clean Magic Reach Starter Kit by cherrydelite37 ,Dec 08 '04
Pros: The disposable cleaning pad,the extension handle and clean citrus scent. Cons: I found nothing wrong with the Magic Reach.
The Mr. Clean Magic Reach is great. I have a large garden tub and cleaning has always been difficult. With the Magic Reach I can easily and efficiently clean it with the extension handle.I also used the detachable handle to clean around it, and the counter tops. It is a great cleaning product and the light citrus scent is enjoyable too.
I absolutely love this product by webmommy ,Mar 24 '05
Pros: Easy to assemble and use, Cleans Well, Fresh smelling Cons: Must buy refills
I am absolutely thrilled with this product. Not only was it easy to assemble and use, but the performance was outstanding. I was very impressed with the pivoting head that allowed me to reach more places and made cleaning things like shower walls and ceilings easy and quick. Changing to the floor pad after using the scrubbing pad for the shower, I found that using the Magic Reach to pivot behind the toilet and around it was so easy and it left my bathroom very clean and fresh smelling. Having bad wrists as I do, I found the product so helpful and it took a lot of strain off of me. To offset the initial cost, the Mr. Clean website if offering a $3 off coupon for the starter kit. I highly recommend this product to all.
Pros: I kind of liked the smell for a few minutes. Cons: It didn't work.
I don't have a shower head that hits every part of the shower/tub, so once I finished scrubbing, I had to take an old rag and wipe down everything I had just covered...completely defeating the purpose of the product. The cleaning agent didn't even move the dirt around. It's all still there.
The floor/counter wipes didn't pick up grime, just clumped it up and moved it around. I had to wipe it up with another rag and sanitize it with another product afterwards.
I would have saved time by getting on my hands and knees and scrubbing in the first place, as I had to do this afterwards anyway.
Yes and No for Mr. Clean Easy Reach by lionness ,Nov 19 '05
Pros: Great idea to put holes in the mop head. Cons: Telescoping pole collapses in size when trying to scrub floor.
Yes it was easy to assemble and has a nice fragrance. The mop head design with holes was brilliant because it drains quickly when dipped in cleaning solution. Its a plus to throw away a dirty cleaning pad rather than having a germy sponge mop sitting around.
On the other hand I'm disappointed with the telescoping handle. Its fine if you just want to spread cleaner around on your floor, but apply a bit more pressure in order to scrub and it collapses down in size. Its put together correctly and I make sure its secure, but down it goes. I hope the design team comes out with Easy Reach II with a better lock-in system. I also had a hard time cleaning soap scum from tub. Need scrubby things on the pads maybe.
