Book clubs, with their offers of several books at almost no cost, are easy to get sucked into and this is especially true since the invention of the internet. In the old days, you had to look for an offer in a magazine and choose books from a limited ...

I read a lot. Mysteries are one of the genres that I enjoy. There are certain authors/series that I also collect, and prefer to buy those books in hardcover. If you’ve noticed the price of hardcover books, then you’ll know I could quickly drain my ...

I am a sucker for a good book. I think I have read pretty much everything our little library has to offer and I am a frequent customer of all the bookstores in my area. But when Mystery guild.com offered me a "six books for a buck each" deal, I had to ...

Terrible!!!
by xxxhpt ,Jun 29 '07
Our overall satisfaction was "0". After ordering and paying for several books, my wife got a past due notice for $57+ even though she knew she wasn't delinquent. She sent proof that the bill in question had been paid. Now they say she owes only $14. Since we already proved that it was paid we refuse to pay it. They have reported the delinquency to the credit bureau and now have really ticked me off, since we have had no contact with them within the past year+. They have refused to accept the fact that they made a mistake in spite of the fact that my wife offered proof of payment. If they need $14.00 that bad, then they shouldn't be in business. They call that customer service?

Horrible experience. Worst customer service ever.

I am a former customer of Mystery Guild. I left because they did not honor a promotion i received in an e-mail. I was supposed to get a discount if I ordered 3 books and it did not appear on invoice. When i e-mailed to complain I got the most ridiculous run around I have ever seen. At first I was assured the problem would be corrected, but when it wasn't it was impossible to ever talk to the person i had previously. I just kept getting new service reps who claimed to know nothing. well I had to write a letter to them to cancel my membership, (the only way, impossible to get out via computer.) Anyway I would be leery of dealing with this company. Delivery speed, good. Order accuracy, bad. Customer service, THE WORST. Overall satisfaction, bad.
