Pros: small, compact, cute design, trusted apple made this. Cons: low battery life. shuffle/programmed mode only. not the most convenient mp3 player
Compared to the clutch wallet sized iPod and its slightly smaller mini, iPod Shuffle seemed like a huge step away from the larger (in size and storage) mp3 players that trusted apple makes. It does look pretty cool on a chain around your neck or on an ...

Pros: It's small and is packaged nicely. Cons: The unit and the software are complete garbage. DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!
OMG, I just purchased the 1GB Ipod Shuffle for $140 with tax. I installed the necessary software in my pentium 4 with 1gig or Ram and the system crashed. The software when working is so slow its unbelievable. You can only listen to music on the Ipod ...

Pros: Lightweight, portable and simple to operate (once it's up and running) Good sound quality. Cons: Accessories expensive, warranty will cost $$, terrible customer service from Apple.
I got the iPod shuffle as a Christmas gift and was happy to receive it. Setting up the iPod to work isn't as easy as the instructions lead you to believe. Initially had problems loading iTunes software. First of all, I had to go online to get the latest ...

Pros: Featherlight, great neck dangle, can change playlist without Shuffle plugged in Cons: Can't normalize mp3 volumes, doesn't turn on right away, twisted earbuds L&R cords
I received this for free from "Gratis Networks" a month ago. If you need specs go here: http://tinyurl.com/4c9q These are my experiences with my first mp3 player & may give you ideas where to use it instead of burning CD's. I use it when ...

Pros: tiny, lightweight, easy to use. Cons: none
I have never been a real music person, but when I started running I realized that music would be the number one thing to fight boredom. So I went to my local Best Buy store, and found the cheapest ipod (ok, the second cheapest), just to try, to see if ...

Pros: small, easy to sync up w/ computer. 1 gb holds a lot of songs! Cons: no way to pick a song you want to listen to easily.
I am not going to review the tech details, since everyone pretty much knows. I'm only going to add my 2cents to my experience. I bought this mainly for my baby son, who is almost 4 months old now. instead of carrying around all his baby einstein cds, ...

Pros: Good capacity for its size, simple Cons: Maybe a little too simple for some users.
The iPod shuffle is a small version of the normal iPods. it is not just a little brother it has no screen and nothing just simple controles. It should be used for running because it has a flash HD. It is very compatiable and is great for the gym. They ...

Pros: Small size, easy organization with iTunes, fairly low price Cons: Can only use with one computer, USB transfers slowly, USB cover is easily lost
I purchased the iPod Shuffle in early February 2005. I already own a 3rd generation 15 GB iPod. I really like its small size; it's great to take to the gym. The neck lanyard seems a little dorky but it serves a good purpose. The battery life is ...

Pros: Excellent form and design, 1GB storage space Cons: No display
The new iPod Shuffle is no doubt a very well made product. But there is one problem - it has no display screen. In fact, Apple wants you to fill up the Shuffle with your favourite tracks and just keep listening. This would be all right if the player had ...

I pod Shuffle GReat
by kirs11688 ,Mar 23 '07
Pros: sound, software Cons: no screen to view songs listening to
The i pod shuffle gives great sound, reliable battery life, consistant clarity, and outstanding software support. The only downfall is the lack of a screen to view the songs your listening to, or for choosing which song to listen to. Though the shuffle is convienent for listening to some of your favorite songs, which is it's purpose, it is only great for that.

Flashy flash drive
by katana_burner ,Oct 22 '06
Pros: Works like a charm. Can wear it like a charm too! Cons: Can lose it in your clothes.
The iPod Shuffle is the USB "Flashy Flash" drive in my book. It's really affordable, compact, durable, lightweight (duh), and most of all it's a flash drive. Oh yeah it also holds about 240 songs depending on how long the song is or how big it is! And if you like you can wear this guy around your neck like it's a charm or fashion statement!
If you haven't tried already you might have noticed that you also can plug this little guy into your PC based machine without reformatting it if you need to use its data storage. It's bi-compatible. But wait there's more! As an MP3 player not only is it concealable but it plays music as if it were CD quality!
The only thing that I don't like about it is that you can lose one pretty quickly in your pants pocket on worse yet...the laundry. But have no fear. You can also get cases for it that can withstand a certain amount of water!

I Pod shuffle makes songs disappear
by oceanitoo ,Apr 08 '06
Pros: cons outweigh any pro Cons: erases music already stored on i pod !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The main problems that I have with the I-pod is a such.
IT ERASES SONGS THAT ARE ALREADY ON THE PLAYER IF THE SOFTWARE CANNOT RECOGNIZE THE SONG!!! This causes problems for me in the following scenario:
1. had to get my main computer fixed, charged i-pod in spare computer ,lo and behold it erased ALL MY SONGS,because the new computer's itunes software did not recognize my titles. If the song has already been put there (on the i pod)leave it alone.
2. I put songs on i tunes from a cd of mp3's I had, took
out the source cd, and no recognition from the software
because the source CD was taken out of the computer so it erased music on my mp3 player.
Didn't apple think that this would make people hugely annoyed, if it erased people's music.!!!!!!!!!

Shuffle Shuffle Step Step ( don't step step on your shuffle shuffle )
by garfield135 ,Dec 25 '06
Pros: Cute size, good looks, showoff factor, and good sound. Cons: No display, and for the LED lights you kinda should learn the codes.
When I opened the box, I saw it had been nicely packed ( it was in some places sorta hard to open ) and well, packed nicely! I had seen a friend's Shuffle and they really are tiny ( the display picture is about the right size ) and I wanted one. Anyway, I am happy with it.
You MUST have iTunes to put music on.
The iPod itself is 0.55 ounces and small enough to easily hide in your palm.
Instead of a display, this one ( I'm not sure about the 1G one ) has 2 LEDs. There are some codes to learn.
I really recommend it!

Didn't work for me.......
by jalapeno123456 ,Mar 19 '07
Pros: Small size, bare bones simplicity. Cons: Poor instructions / execution of interface. Dock limits user choices.
I recently purchased the latest Shuffle from a local electronics store and I was unable to get the device to accept music. I tried multiple formats, and programs but to no avail. I graduated to the next size / price up , and have not had any problems since.

What are you looking for?
by jeffus ,Feb 25 '05
Pros: Compact, compact, compact. Easy to use. Cons: No LCD, no LCD, no LCD.
Let's just get straight to it: you get what you pay for--and you should pay for what you need. If you don't need an LCD or more than 1 gb of music, and you do need something compact and relatively well-priced, then, by all means, this is the player for you.
It was interesting that Apply introduced this flash-based player after denouncing them in the past, while trying to build up their hard-drive based iPods. That's Apple for ya'. Can't really blame them though: for some people, this thing will be great. Visually, it is a masterpiece. It is only .3 inch thick and .5 inch wide. It weighs in at .8 ounce. If that's not enough, it can't be easier to use. Oh, and if you just need to be like all the popular kids: it's a cheap start.
