New iPod Shuffle - Could Anything be better for exercising?
by ben183 ,Sep 04 '07
Pros: Extremely Lightweight, Great Battery Life, clips on to anything, Cons: Cannot view what song you are listening to, tough to quickly jump to one song
The first time I went running and to the gym with this Shuffle, instead of my bulky 20gb ipod, I instantly felt the difference. This little guy can hold 250 songs which is more than enough for days of exercising. The battery life is also great. On a side note - it's perfect for throwing a quick playlist on there and letting it ride during any party!

Actually its Pretty useful
by zuka ,Nov 30 '05
Pros: Light weight and Compact Cons: 1 GB
Small for its size i find it way more handier than the regular Ipod's because in class i don't have to look down on a screen to find my song and i can just randomize it and not get caught. I can take it out with me if i go running and not worry about any extra weight or looking at the screen to find my song. Like the commercial, Life is Random so why not get one and enjoy it.

Some good, some bad
by suz23 ,Nov 30 '05
Pros: Lightweight, good sound, excellent memory capacity. Cons: Lack of display, difficult to use with armband carrying case.
I compromised and bought the Shuffle rather than the Nano because I was just going to use it for the gym and figured I didn't need all the bells and whistles. Turns out that one of the whistles I miss is the ability to see what's playing; why would they even make a player without this capability? I also had to take the first player back because the battery wouldn't take a charge at all, but I've had no such problems with the replacement player. Other than that, the sound quality is good, and the small size makes it ideal for the gym.
Finally, I bought an iPod armband carrier to use at the gym but find that it's incredibly difficult to turn the player on through the carrier; I have to slide the Shuffle out of the carrier every time I want to turn it on or off. I would think this would have been a design consideration since the carrier is made specifically for the iPod shuffle!

coolest player ever! - Dazhi Chen
by dazhic ,Nov 22 '05
Pros: style Cons: might lose it!
How cool is this? Far cooler than anything else on the market. Apple did a wonderful job of turning a simple player with no display into a useful, stylish device!

IPOD - Great for kids
by poohluver ,Jan 03 '06
Pros: Easy to use for kids and adults. Easy to organize music. Easy to sort music Cons: Could be just a little bigger - could get lost easily.
I purchased this gift for my 9-year old. She is able to manage the IPOD on her own. She plugs in the IPOD and gets right down to ordering music and sorting her music. As an added bonus for us she even wants to do housework to earn money to buy more music - at .99 per song it is not an overwhelming chore list for her.

So small and light
by ibahowell ,Aug 18 '05
Pros: Small. It can go everywhere. Cons: Think I might lose or sit on it.
You can take this anywhere and you can also get a lot of accessories to go with it. I love my shuffle. It holds a bunch of songs, and it was fairly inexpensive compared to the others. It is very small and very light. I am affraid that I might lose it since it is so small.

How to tick off a customer
by adiamond ,Jul 08 '05
Pros: Loved it when it worked Cons: Unforgivable tech support policy and over priced.
I've really enjoyed my ipod...when it worked.
Now it doesn't charge. I would like to contact tech support but unfortunately my single incident or 90 days (single incident) free support is up so I can't get any help from apple.
Think about it: This item cost $150. It's profit margin is huge compared to most electronic items. Still, I can't even email tech support.
I will never buy apple again.

Shuffle
by phantom090585 ,Dec 02 '06
Pros: Size, capacity, sound, battery life, durable. Cons: screen if not used for running
A good MP3 player for use while working out. This thing is light and easy to operate while "on the move." the drawback is the whole no screen thing. which isn't a problem while running because seriously... who is gonna stare at a screen while running along.

Runner's Dream!
by awismer ,Jun 22 '05
Pros: Light Weight, Easy to Use, Perfect for Running. Cons: Earphones fall out during athletic activities.
I just bought this iPod shuffle two days ago for one reason.....running. Tried it out yesterday and LOVED IT!! This is a perfect piece of equipment for any runner. Very light with easy to use controls, and good sound. The software (itunes) is also easy to install and use. The earphones however are not very runner friendly and are not the type that stay in ears during athletic activities. Suggest buying a different set of earphones if you are a runner. No LCD but who cares? The thing is strapped to my arm or clipped to my hip, I don't have time to look at the LCD while running. Just hit the next button if you want a different song and the shuffle does the rest!

Excellent Value
by abbyonpath ,Feb 20 '06
Pros: Good battery life, good storage capacity, lightweight, simple, easy to get started. Cons: Might be too simple for some, nothing particularly attractive or special about it.
I bought this product at Best Buy after weighing many different options. What I liked best about the iPod Shuffle 1GB was the battery life and simplicity. I bought it on the treadmill. It's great for working out because you can turn it on and go. You don't have to fuss with buttons or circles. And it's like a surprise every time. I'm excited when my favorite songs come up on the rotation. I found it easy to set up and use. I am not a tech-savvy individual but had no problems with this product. The batteries last a long time and it's easy to charge through your computer. 1G allows for a good number of songs and I think it's a great deal. It's so light that you won't notice it while you're taking that walk or jog. It comes with a lanyard that you can attach to hang around your neck, but I have no problems carrying it. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to purchase an MP3 player. I almost bought the nano but am glad I chose this one instead.

Perfect
by usthug ,Jul 07 '05
Pros: No moving parts, small, easy to use. Cons: No screen could be one for some people.
This is the perfect iPod for me or anyone else that doesn't want some bulky MP3 player to drag around with them wherever they go. I take mine to work with me and I listen to it in my truck. The greatest thing about it is that there are no moving parts so you don't have to worry about it being damaged from breathing on it. I also love the shuffle feature and not having a screen. I listen to more of my older music because of this now. I'm not constantly searching for something to listen to.

5 mp3 players I have owned
by epinchitz ,Jan 04 '07
Pros: Small, light weight, improved battery life Cons: Still trying to figure out easy way to install music.
I have owned a few other ones. I really wanted one that did not have all the bells and whistles - bare bones. Also, I found all the other ones too bulky. Shuffle is not bad at all.
