The Best Wireless Controller For The Gamecube: Nintendo Wavebird.

by yakkowarner Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Jul 28 '04
Pros: Wireless, good feel, good communication.
Cons: Controllers can interfere with each other, analog sticks can be damaged easily, no rumble.
Why I got it I have a big screen TV so I am forced to sit at the other side of the room to play games (oh darn.) When I first got the Gamecube I had to move the Console to the middle of the living room to play on my couch. When my son was old ...

Truly excellent performance, but not for everyone.

by groxx , Jul 03 '04
Pros: Durable, long battery life, flawless connection, and CHEAP! 25 bucks!
Cons: Joysticks are noticeably higher sensitivity, very very tiny lag. That's it.
A neighbor of mine got four of these suckers, and I'm always skeptical of anything but the original Nintendo controllers. I've had sooo many bad experiences with 3rd party controllers (every one I have bought, I've kicked myself for later. Without a ...

Fly like a Wavebird!

by videogamzrulz , Feb 16 '04
Pros: durable, incredable range, comfortable
Cons: batteries, no rumble:(, semi-expensive
No, a Wavebird is not a bird, it is a gamecube controller. This controller gives you serious freedom. Why? Because its wireless! Here's how it works: where you usually plug in the cord of a controller to, plug in the rectangular receiver that comes ...

Wireless controller freedom

by tommy_lop Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Dec 31 '03
Pros: great wireless controller
Cons: no rumbel feature, i have to readjust the frequency sometimes.
I asked my sister to get me a new controller for my gamecube for chirsmas. I didn’t expect that she would buy me this wireless one. I was a little bit worry though because in the past most wireless controllers suck. They used a remote controller get up ...

WaveBird Flys with Me

by spryte7 , Nov 19 '03
Pros: No cords to tangle or trip on.
Cons: No other colors but that ugly "computer gray" color.
I love playing video games. But sometimes, it's hard to fully enjoy them if you can't recline and relax into it. Maybe I should explain a little bit about this. Here's the scenario: In my house, the television is propped up to eye level if one is ...

The Wonderful Wavebird

by asamanh , May 12 '03
Pros: No more wires! Easy to maneuver
Cons: No rumble pack
I’m not one of those people who goes on all the gaming websites and looks at all the new games and accessories. About once a month I go on Epinions, see what’s new and hot, then go out to Best Buy. Therefore I was not up-to-date on the new...

One of the best controllers I have seen in a long time

by tommy_lop Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Apr 30 '03
Pros: it's a great controller
Cons: the buttons are to small has well has the control pad.
I got this controller when I got my Gamecube a couple of months ago, when I first saw the Nintendo Gamecube controller I was a little freak out. I was wondering what they where on when they made this because it looked so weird in a lot of ways. Well...

Whoa, Get Your Hands Off Of This Controller, You've Got Dinner To Eat!!!

by rmskater , Apr 28 '03
Pros: More ergonomic controller, feels great to hold! Two analog sticks.
Cons: Two analog sticks resulting in a loss of one button.
Well, I must say, I love holding this controller. It is smaller than the Nintendo 64 controller, and feels MUCH better to hold, also.

The Gamecube controller is about four inches wide, and about about...

Free as a Wavebird!!!!

by dj_jazzy_jrod , Mar 31 '03
Pros: No more cord extensions!!!
Cons: Could have been rechargable.
Being as big a Nintendo fan as I am it is hard to find things wrong with the Gamecube. Still, if I had to give one, then I guess the short cords on their controllers would have to be it. Don't get me wrong, I love the layout of the OEM controller, but...

The Wavebird Still Rumbles

by m-jacobs , Feb 27 '03
Pros: RF frequency is the way to play
Cons: Missing the rumble capability
If you have ever had to deal with tripping over wires, pulling out the plug during gameplay or anyone walking in front of you while playing, this is the item for you. The Wavebird's RF frequency was the best idea Nintendo had for this product. I...

Wireless: Play up to 20ft. Away

by mk34 , Feb 24 '03
Pros: portability, long battery life, no cords
Cons: no rumble feature
The WaveBird Wireless controller is a great buy. You get all the controls of the standard GCN controller, but without the hassle of those long, tangly cords. No more mom-walking-by only to have accidentally tripping over the wires and pulling them out....

Finally can keep my gamecube out of harms way

by mule01 , Feb 20 '03
Pros: Uses radio signals, nothing gets in the way, comfortable.
Cons: No rumble (if you care), no battery level indicator.
I love my gamecube, but with 2 dogs, 2 cats and a 5 year old, the chances were pretty good that someone would trample the system, pull out the plugs for the controler or worse the system when you are playing it, never mind the animal hair. Now the...
