  • I have Reservations about "No Reservations"

    Jul 22 '07
Pros: Eckhart - he's endearing, and kind of a cross between Bon Jovi and Robin William
Cons: Zeta Jones - she's comfortable in the kitchen and the market, but otherwise distant

Summary: One of my pet peeves is how movie trailers, seen many times (if you go to the movies at least once a week, as I do) influence you to believe that a movie will be of one genre, when the real film is startlingly unlike what the trailer portrays. Such is ... read more

  • A nice drama-romance-family movie

    Oct 16 '10
Pros: Great performances - warm, emotional atmosphere - nice soundtrack
    Cons: predictable plot, unoriginal

Summary: Since I'm a sucker for rom-coms when I first saw No Reservations on DVD I absolutely loved it. However it's not a typical rom-com. It's more of a drama with romantic and family elements. The story is about a lonely successful chef (Catherine ... read more

  • A Reservation for 3

    Dec 29 '08
    Pros: Catherine Zeta Jones
Cons: Way....too predictable from the beginning

Summary: Kate (catherine Zeta-Jones) is a woman on a mission to be the best chef in the city when things change in her life and in her restaurant...The acting was pretty good in this movie. Both Catherine Zeta Jones & Aaron Eckhert did well as a ... read more

  • Get a reservation for No Reservations

    Aug 26 '07
Pros: Fine actors, directed well and nice score. Believable story.
Cons: Music may have been a little loud at times or out of sync with mood(dubbing)

Summary: Beset by the mind numbing barrage of summer block-buster sequels, I needed a reprieve in the form an adult oriented drama that appealed to a more serious side than just my entertainment fix. I recognized this in 'No Reservations' upon reading a capsule ... read more

  • Check Please....

    Aug 12 '07
    Pros: Hmmm... well...
Cons: A mechanical plot and an empty screenplay void of emotional depth.

Summary: I'm a Scott Hicks fan, I freely admit that. I've been a fan of his work ever since "Snow Falling On Cedars." I heard Hicks name attached to this film and I forgot about all of the negative buzz that surrounded this film. So what has "No ... read more

  • Delightfully refreshing

    Aug 08 '07
Pros: Clean, entertaining, funny, full of emotions
Cons: Has a typical romantic comedy type of ending

Summary: We saw this not really expecting too much but just entertainment. Surprisingly, my husband picked this one out since the lines were too long for the opening weekend flicks. I wanted to see it but really hadn't heard anything great or bad about it so ... read more

  • Not a BLAH BLAH REVIEW SHORT AND SWEET.

    Aug 02 '07
Pros: Forget $3gal - Boss - CC bills. Go Feel good at a movie.
Cons: Nothing original same typical plot man-woman-side order of child

Summary: CAST: Catherine Zeta-Jones ... Kate Aaron Eckhart ... Nick Abigail Breslin ... Zoe (Kate's Sisters daughter) Ok kate - A chef who lives and breathes food but has a hermit life when the restaurant closes. Most chefs follow the same pattern - ... read more

  • Reserve a Seat For This Romcom Gem

    Jul 21 '07
Pros: well written, great acting, good humor, good touch on dramatic scenes
Cons: predictable, a couple of cheesy lines

Summary: Based on the 2002 German film “Mostly Martha,” “No Reservations” is a nice and sweet summer treat. So surprisingly witty and emotionally absorbing, it’s an impressive little film that far exceeds expectations. The premise isn’t ... read more

  • No Reservations? Not Quite

    Jul 21 '07
Pros: restaurant setting, some of the supporting characters are wonderful, generally well acted
Cons: no chemistry between Zeta-Jones and Eckhart or Zeta-Jones and Breslin, fairly unoriginal story

Summary: No Reservations is not a terribly original movie. The career woman who inherits her dead sister's child or children has been a recurring plot line in many movies for more than 25 years. No Reservations is a perfectly adequate incarnation of ... read more

Pros: Great characters, good acting, sweet and fun.
Cons: No orginality in the plot.

Summary: No Reservation is one of the best feel-good movie that I have watched.  Although the movie lack of originality in terms of storyline and screenplay but it does have my thumbs up for beautiful characters.  Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart
