I have had hardwood floors in my kitchen and dining room for 10 years. When they were first installed, they looked great. My contractor gave me a bottle of a swiss floor cleaner that was very expensive, and I was never happy with the job it did. ...

Pros: Easy to use, makes floors sparkle and shine Cons: You may need to buy extra refinisher and pads
When my husband and I were on the market for our first home together, I wanted a house that had potential and character. Since we were young, most of the houses we looked at were big on potential but lacked character. Until we walked into the small 3 ...
Pros: fast-drying, covers scratches, shiny finish Cons: needs more than one application
We have hardwoods floors on the first floor of our 16-year-old house and have been talking about having the floors refinished for a couple of years. (3 kids, 1 cat, toys, etc. have taken a toll) In a last-ditch effort, I bought Orange Glo liquid floor refinisher. After two applications, my floors look like NEW!!! I can see myself in the finish! I don't know how long the shine will last, but it sure looks great now.
Pros: none Cons: The makers of orange glo should be sued!
This product leaves a milky residue on your wood floors that is nearly impossible to get off. It took me about 5 hours per 150 square feet with water and ammonia to get it off.
Pros: Makes your floors shiny and clean! Cons: none
My husband saw a commercial for this product and we decided to try it. We just bought a new home and the hardwood floors are in new condition but after the move they were very dirty. We purchased it at Wal-mart for $14.95.
This product works great. I swept the floor first, then went over the floor with the "dry" alura microfiber head. I was amazed to see the pet hair that it picked up right after I had swept!
I then proceeded to spray the cleanser and mop using the microfiber "damp". It glides over the floor easily too so its not too much hard work! It worked great we saw a definite difference!
I have not tried the refinisher yet but I am sure it works just as great as the cleanser.

Pros: Simple. Cheap. Works well. Cons: Time-consuming for multiple coats...
I just started using this product to maintain a parquet floor that had been obviously neglected by the previous owner. Although the floor still had some shine, it was fairly dull. The cleaner seems fairly standard, and as I clean the floors regularly, not much difference was noted. The floor refinisher works quite well. It evened out the shine, covered minor scratches, and gave the floor a rich slightly darker luster. The refinisher and cleaner are both nearly odor/fume free, which is really nice. Since my floor had never been cared for, I applied multiple coats (the bottle says up to 2, but I did up to 4 in the trouble areas), which can be time consuming, as you have to wait 1-2 hours between each. Overall, this is a great product that actually works as promised!
Update: After applying numerous coats (6-9) in my high traffic areas, the results are very impressive...a deep mirror-like luster is achieved after a while. The only caveat is that the finish can be chipped off by a hard impact of something sharp on the floor. Re-applying fixes this right away though.
I did find the kit very easy to use and apply. I followed all directions and was very pleased with the results ... AT FIRST.
About 6 hours later some water fell on the floor (dog drinking water from his bowl). It wasn't under his bowl and sitting there for an extended period of time as we keep this on a mat - this was just some spots from sloppy drinking. I must say I dried the water spots with a towel within 10 seconds of falling them from the dogs mouth. BUT, this left cloudy spots on my dark brown wood floors. It looks awful.
