Pros: All in one, and it works for me. Cons: Battery life.
I'm writing this review because I think the Treo 680 has been unfairly judged by some with little or no Palm OS background. Imagine a Toyota Camry driver assessing old Jaguar autos. You can imagine them shaking their heads and saying "Unreliable." ...

Pros: Size, weight, OS. Call log. 4 gig SD and 64 MB memory. P-Tunes basic. Cons: Slow OS, Disappointing battery life, integration 650 software, limited or unavailable Bluetooth Features .
This is a long, but I hope informative and objective, review of the Treo 680. First, I have been a Palm OS user and proponent since the Palm Pilot in the mid 90's. I have been a huge fan of the simple yet powerful OS that, since the beginning, has ...

Pros: Appearance is nice.
3rd party software/accessories excellent.
Cons: Browser performance insufferable.
Operating system stodgy.
Keyboard difficult to use.
Included software archaic.
When was the last time you considered a Palm/Treo? As cell phones converge, the personal information manager (as a stand-alone device) is dying as well. The concept of a personal information manager, indeed the whole bases for the Palm operating system ...

Pros: Easy to use, Great calendar, video camera Cons: Not easy to download ringtones
Being a busy mom on the go, I needed a calendar to keep me in order and a way to organize my lists and everyday life. I don't usually carry a big purse, so I wanted all of this in a phone so I didn't have to carry a lot of stuff. I decided on the ...

Pros: Lots of available software. Prior models apparently of better quality. Cons: Significant quality issues with the firmware and battery life
Update 5/18/07 Cingular switched the phone for a new one about a month ago. They felt that I just got a bad phone. The new one worked fine for a while. Last night it would not hot sync again. Today the same giberish appeared in the phone window used ...

Pros: Plenty of memory space.
Signal strength better than 650 yet more compact. Cons: Two software issues that need to be fixed quickly.
I've owned several smart phones over the last couple of years. Recently I'd migrated from the Treo 650 to the new Treo 680. I don't regret my decision, but I do feel that the product needs to mature a little further before I recommend other 650 owners ...

Pros: Light, good design. Cons: Expensive, freezes, slow.
I have been a fan of Palm since they began making smartphones. With every new product, I saw improvements. I had a Handspring, a Palm, and a Treo. I bought the Treo 680 because it was the only one that was unlocked and could work with T-Mobile. ...

Pros: Easy to use, great software, easy to connect to PC Cons: Screen cracks VERY easily, system freezes
I got the Treo 680 as a replacement for a stolen Blackberry from Cingular. At first I was impressed. It seemed to work well. It did freeze occasionally, which was a pain. Other than that I was happy with it. The bliss was short lived though. After ...

Pros: looks good Cons: dropped calls, software issues, hardware probelms, you name it
I purchased the Palm 680 when it was released in Dec through cingular. It worked well and I had few if any problems for the first 2 months. When I added a 1gig SD card and MP3's the software problems started. The phone would freeze frequently between ...

Treo 680, Worth the Change?
by zzglobal ,Aug 12 '07
Pros: Lots of third party applications, better audio and great memory space. Cons: Battery life could be better. Cheap frontal face material which cracks with no abuse
As a 650 user I decided to make the change. The 650 had many issues, like constant rebooting and all the other complaints many users had. Physically the 680 is very nice, ironically it is not as good as the 650 for one handed operation. My 680 has not rebooted once but it does have the tendency to temporarily freeze up while receiving or making a call. It is almost as if it had a sensor which gauges very important calls and freezes. Palm has improved the audio and the 680 does not need "Volume Care" like my 650. My 680 did develope cracks on the face which I thought was sturdy and solid but turned out to be really cheap material. Replacing this was expensive, over $100.00. I do believe that Palm designers are a bit arrogant and do not admit when they have made a mistake. Like the 650 they never admitted any thing was wrong so nothing to improve. All in all I would recommend the change to the 680.

Treo 680 from Cingular
by txdiogenes ,Nov 30 '06
Pros: great shape and no antennae. I like the voice memo Cons: Signal seems weaker than 650. not happy about having to do the returns.
Treo appears to have great features that PalmOS users have come to expect. I bought mine from Cingular the day that they arrived in my local cingular store. I have had to return two of them and am on my third one. The first was locked up and would not toggle between anything. The second one would reboot every time it got a call and the ringer or vibrate would not alert me that a call was even coming in. At the cingular store, one of the staff told me that they had gotten an initial three of them - I returned two of them and another customer returned his for a reboot problem. I love the Treo Products and am hoping that I was just unlucky twice BUT if you can wait to make the purchase it might be a good thing to see what kind of feedback the 680 gets.
