Needed to replace a 25 year old sliding patio door. Looked at Anderson sliding patio doors and Pella sliding patio doors. Chose Pella purely based on cost. We were a little skeptical of the interior screen door, but the sales person pointed out that our ...
Pros: Beauty, energy savings, 20 year warranty Cons: Higher priced than some competitors, but well worth the extra money.
The Pella designer series triple-pane French patio door has turned out to be a great investment. We moved into a home that had a 6 foot sliding patio door which was original to the house (30+ years). It is on the west side of the house, and during the ...
Pros: Professionally installed. Energy efficient. Cons: Expensive. Product quality is disappointing.
We recently had several windows in our home replaced with Pella Impervia double-hung windows. The installation work - arranged by Pella - was very professional. The team arrived on time, as promised, and completed all their work in a timely manner. ...
Pros: Fiberglass, Paintable.Solid build, thick glass, double pain lowE with argon, available in 8 foot height. Cons: very heavy. no options on handle styles.
I have the Impervia, They are FIBERGLASS, not cheap vinyl. I was about to buy vinyl. I just couldn't see myself live in my house with plastic windows. I had a number of estimates from various brands..they all looked cheap.....so instead of wood, and ...
Pros: The wood windows are beautiful, everything functions like it should Cons: Wish there were more hardware options for both types of windows
Over the past two years, we've replaced a total of fourteen double-hung windows and a storm door with Pella products. Ten of the windows were "Renovation" series wood windows (the Lowes equivalent of the "Precision Fit" line) and four were ThermaStar ...
Pros: Quality of door Cons: Service, order instructions not followed
We ordered two Pella patio sliding doors from Menards. We had to wait 3 weeks for the doors, which was fine. On the expected delivery date, however, the doors were just being shipped. They were going from Ohio to Indiana. It took 5 days to get them ...
Pros: My installers did a good job. Cons: Service is beyond bad. If problem, first they blame you, then they charge you.
I had Pellas installed in a new addition 10 years ago. They were the worst company I ever dealt with. Three of the seven windows delivered had bad seals. Luckily it rained before installation. That's when I noticed all the water ...
Pros: Can't think of any right off hand. Cons: Very poor quality seals/craftsmanship.
Bought this product at Lowe's about 3 1/2 years ago. Had Lowe's contractor install. Total price ~ $2,000. The oval decorative double-paned window in the center of the entry door has a broken seal and is cloudy due to moisture. This part has a 10-year ...

Pros: They are easily removable and will make replacing with Anderson easy. Cons: Pella windows, doors, and service personnel are one big con.
Pella windows have to be the worst I have used. I have remodeled all four of my homes I have lived in. Went with Pella as they were recommended by a professional builder I deal with. The windows have been in for about a year now and are warping and not operating properly. Have had their service techs out three times already. Both of my sliding doors leak, one was the seal and the other was in the glass for the fixed panel. Their suggestion was to caulk it. Did not fly with me so they reordered the fixed panel. Originally it was purchased prefinished. When it came it was not. Pella and Gunton told me ot was my responsibility to finish. Then the service tech caulked the outside for extra assurance. Looks like an amateur did it. Next time Anderson all the way.
Amazing Customer Service by brian28677 ,Mar 21 '09
Pros: Great Customer Service on replacement parts Cons: NONE...I'm happy as can be!!! Still shaking my head in disbelief!
I broke the glass in the lower sash on a Pella double hung window by moving furniture. A very heavy lamp tipped over, shattered the glass and punctured the screen. Completely my fault. My first thought, was oh ****, I wonder what this is going to cost. I called Pella to order a replacement and gave them the serial number on the window label. A short time later, a nice lady got back the phone and she had placed the order, the sash and screen will be there in about 2 weeks. No Charge. Blew my socks off as I was ready to give out my credit card number to pay for it.
Pella Impervia Double Hung Windows by mbissonnet ,Jul 21 '09
Pros: Ease of washiing Full screens Attrative finish Cons: Sometimes difficult to lock upper and lower window.
During the past year, we have had 10 new Impervia Double hung Windows installed in our home. These are fiberglass windows, and to date we are very happy with them. Installation was very simple and we love the ease of pulling out the winodw to wash them inside and out. The full screens are a huge improvement over our previous screens. Very easy to lock and remove.
Overall we have been very happy with these windows for the past year.
Pros: don't leak Cons: doesnt work, missing the custom grills, and they did not match the stain...not even close.
not happy with my Pella Double hung architecture quality wood windows. The grills were badly scratched, and still waiting for some they forgot. They did not match the stain of my sills so that, too, looks awful.
AND, one window does not work. I bought the 'best', I thought, and am not at all happy. So far no leaks though, but the one window that doesn't work has a gap to the outside. I'm trying to get something done, but looks like i have to submit a claim under their warranty. I had them installed 2 weeks ago....
Pella Triple Pane Double-Hung Windows by ijuanitmo ,Mar 14 '07
Pros: Great on energy saving and noise reduction. Cons: Can't close windows after opening as top section comes down.
Replaced 15 windows in my home and am very disappointed in the double-hung windows. Once opened, they can't be closed and locked as the top sash comes down. I have to use a shim as leverage to raise the top portion on EVERY one of them whether a large or small window. Pella replaced the strings on all in an attempt to fix the problem, but it didn't work. Have a call in to them again to see what can be done.
I recently had 11 windows replaced in my 1930s home with Wood Pellas. I must say, these windows are beautiful. I was afraid of replacing my old windows in fear of destroying the look and feel of the classic woodwork in my home, but these windows not only added efficiency, but functional beauty as well.
I purchased the windows without paint or stain so I could match my interior wood exactly.
The experience of the salesman and installers was nothing but professional. Installers showed up early and left me with a clean home. Installation took 1 day, and the work was flawless. The salesman stayed on top of the entire process to ensure satisfaction.
I highly recommend these replacement windows not only for their quality, but for the outstanding Pella customer experience.
