5/31/2005: I contacted Penske rentals because I needed to rent a car tow dolly or carrier. They absolutely refused to rent either to me, unless I also rented one of their trucks. I have a new Chevrolet Avalance with towing package, and am more than adequately equipped to tow a small car. I needed the dolly or carrier to tow a Suzuki Sidekick to my sister-in-law from Fresno, CA to Bisbee, AZ. Penske rep ("Eric") stated that Penske's policy is to only rent the carrier or dolly with a truck rental. This is profiteering, in my opinion, and I will make every effort to avoid dealing with this company in the future. They have certainly earned my ill will toward them.

I recently helped a friend move from Florida to North Carolina. My friend reserved a 16 foot truck in advance. The day of the moved he realized he had under estimated the size of the truck. The Penske rep was completely understanding of the problem and went out of his way to make the last minute change. The truck was clean and in excellent shape at the time of delivery. One minor problem on the trip required a service call. The Penske repair man arrived within 30 minutes after the call and had the problem resolved within twenty minutes. Drop off was handled as well as the pick up. I will use Penske when I make my own move next year.

Excellent website. also if you plan ahead and reserve the truck if any deals or specials happen then they will give you that price. also the vehicles are in excellent condition.

I rented a 12" truck to drive from LA to NC and Penske exceeded my expectations. The truck was ready on time, in great condition and the personnel in both the LA and NC rental points were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.  I had no issues with the truck and or the company and wouldn't hesitate to rent a truck from them for any future moves.
