Philips DVP3340V DVD/VCR combo- doing the job for us!

Pros: inexpensive, easy to use and hook up.
Cons: can't control TV with remote, it misbehaves occasionally.

steer clear of this one!

Pros: Inexpensive, comparatively speaking
Cons: DVD pauses on its own. VCR eats tapes. Extremely poor warranty service.

bradshawcl gave an excellent review as far as the technical aspects of this machine go, so I won't go there. I bought this unit to replace a vcr that was about 10 years old and had gone bad, and a dvd player. I wanted to reduce the amount of units ...
