Pros: very small, unique and sharp design, good sound quality, waterproof, skip-free Cons: not expandable beyond 128 megabytes, battery life is not too great
During my search for a new portable audio device, as you may know, I tried out many different player ...
Pros: Very small, lightweight and holds a good number of songs Cons: Headphones are awful, magnet idea is solid, but unconventional
Finally, after two straight months of slaving away at work, I was able to go back to the gym. The fourth quarter was over, and I dedicated myself to start working out at lunch again.
This was me on January 1st, but I had been thinking that way...
Pros: Super small, arm strap, lightweight, weatherproof, can be operated by feel only. Cons: Headphones, battery life, won't last forever.
I have owned mp3 players since about 1998. I started back with the Rio300 and have owned almost every Rio since then because I have an unfortunate addiction to buying electronic toys like this. So my Nike psa[play 120 made by Rio just died on me so I ...
Pros: Small, light, robust, splash-proof. Good sound overall, loud enough. Has a certain rarity value. Cons: Headphones pretty dire. No random play, needs more bass. Packaging is virtually impenetrable.
I've had my Nike PSA[128max (aka Philips ACT210) for a month or so now, and it has accompanied me to the gym on numerous visits - so far, so good. I wanted a music player that was small, didn't skip during playback, carried at least a couple of hours...
Pros: Tiny, comfortable, great sound, easy to use Cons: Headphones sometimes clumsy, Wiring can be clumsy as well
I received the Philips/Nike PSA Play 128 Max personal mp3 player in December 2002. This is a self-contained mp3 player and requires no external discs. It is like a mini 129Mb hard drive in a compact component.
Pros: Size, sound, complete package Cons: fiddly armband, remote buttons easy to mix up, Musicmatch annoys with upgrade solicitations
I got this as a gift a while ago. I wasn't in the market for one, but I should have been. This little pocket music maker is terrific!
After wrestling for a week to get the thing out of it's armour plated packing, (you may need a hacksaw) I had...
Pros: Works well, sounds good, and is very versatile. Cons: You have to turn down a sales pitch every time you quit the software.
I have had this MP3 player for nearly a year. I have no real complaints about the player itself. The maximum volume is too low for the soft parts in symphonic music, but high enough for pop and even for small-ensemble classical. The sound is very rich ...
Pros: Compact, good sound, unique headphones direct cable behind, comes with charger and battery. Cons: Musicmatch caused ripped Cd's to skip, no product support
This is a neat little player. The sound quality is pretty good and the unit is easy to operate. I like the armband and the fact that a rechargeable battery and charger were included. The headphones direct the cable behind you out of the way but didn't ...
Pros: This item is VERY portable. "Invisible" controls allow for ease of use. Cons: ANNOYING headphones.
I recently picked up this item for use at the gym. I'd been threatening for some time to get one of those "strap-em to your arm" Sony walkman's, but they only got the radio, and reception on those things is horrendous.
Pros: small size. armband for workouts. Cons: terrible headphones, annoying magnets, can't use RealOne, no shuffle option, MusicMatch software, flaky performance
I purchased the Nike PSA 128mb (phillips model) from Best Buy. The customer service representative encouraged me to buy the Rio 128mb instead. Now I realized that he was very correct.
While downloading .mp3's to the player via MusicMatch,...
Pros: Small size, good capacity, skip free (if you can get the thing to work). Cons: Does not work on Macintosh computers as advertised. Bad Tech Service.
I bought this device to use on a Macintosh (it is advertised as being Mac compatible). However, the Mac version of the installer software does not work at all. I have tried it on ALL currently available operating systems (OS 8.6, 9.2.2 and even OS X) and...
Pros: Skip-proof, Smart Wire Management, 128mb, and loaded with necessities & accessories... Cons: ...none at this time...
I am the everyday athlete that most people would come to think of. I run daily, I lift weights, and most of all - I play soccer nearly 24/7. As you know, if you yourself are an athlete, it can get pretty exhausting when training hour after hour. I am...
Pros: * Small size
* Rechargeable battery/charger are included
* Very water resistant Cons: * No clip for player
* Can't scroll through titles
This is my first review for Epinions- I normally read other people's opinions, but when I bought and tried to use the Nike PSA 128, I was "inspired" (read: enraged enough) to write in. I had read really mixed reviews, but then in reading reviews for...
This player is small, lite weight, and has more memory then Nike's prior model. But it freezes up towards the end of the playlist. For example, if there are 20 songs, 1-15 will play fine. But for songs 16-20, it will freeze at the end of each song as...
Pros: Great size, sound, and battery life(rechargable)! Cons: A little pricey.
In short...this MP3 player is amazing. I got this player in the December of 2002 and am still amazed at its small size and enormous power.
The sound is amazing, you can even create your own custom balance.
Portability is probably the...
Pros: Comes with arm-band, battery charger, small, splash-proof. Cons: No shuffle/random play, headphones are horrible [fall out of your ears], needs better EQ.
The idea behind this MP3 was great. You can wear it on your arm-band to the gym or run with it. Unfortunately the headphones do not keep up with you. Behind the head headphones get in the way if you want to bench press, and worse, they fall out of...
Pros: Small. Cons: Worst software I have ever seen. Will crash Mac OS 9.x every time.
I am a 10 year Mac/Unix programmer, and I have NEVER seen software so poorly written. Mac users beware: no OS X driver, and OS 9.x users will pull their hair out with their so-called "software". X.bin resource files, gobbly-guk text files, buggy...
Looks cool, but build quality is terrible! by mimestatic ,Jul 02 '04
Pros: Cool design, skip and sweat proof, armband Cons: Low battery life, akward headphones, stopped working after 3 weeks
I originally bought this product because it looked sharp, was small, sweat and skip-proof, and came with an armband- everything you need in order to use it while you're working out.
If you've been researching this product online, you'll find TONS of sites that offer refurbished versions of this model. THERE IS A REASON FOR THAT! They always break! After my player stopped working entirely after only three weeks of occasional use, I did my own research, and this player is notorious for dying after minimal usage. If you're the type of person that always does research before making a big purchase, heed this warning: Do NOT buy this product! There are tons of mp3 players out there with similar features that aren't going to die on you within a month.
I highly recomend this MP3. The sound, the style, the Set, all of this is the top of the line quality that you want in an MP3. It may be a little expensive, but if you are looking for grade A class, this MP3 is the way to go. It is easily stored, and is very convienent for jogging. With the armstrap for workouts, the MP3 is totally out of bothering reach. The only thing i would recomend doing is getting a new pair of headphones. The ones that they give you are extremely cheap and are not able to stay on your head long.
I could use this player not just for running, but for any activity. It's so lightweight and non-obtrusive that I forget that I'm even wearing it. I had no trouble installing the software and transferring songs to the player.
For me, this player was worth buying to avoid having to run and listen to radio commercials. You know what I mean- When you're in the zone and the song ends to hear someone rant on a new deal for a car or something. Instead, I listen to the music of my choice, taking my mind off everything, and helping me to get a much better workout.
It would be nice if the player had a clock or a stopwatch. Other than that, I love it and won't use anything else.
