FUBAR 12W
by deathwish99 ,Jul 28 '06
Pros: Hit hard with proper amp/s. Nice SPL. SQ is great. Cons: Need to be in a ported box, literally shook apart sealed box.
I started out with these subs with the LT980/2 Power Acoustik amplifier, they hit good and great but I did want louder bass so i went with the v power alpine amps 400RMS (got 2 of them) each to each sub and I had both of my FUBAR 12w power acoustik subs hitting in a slot ported box made by qlogic with a rockford fosgate capacitor. I must say when I heard em hit the first time it was pretty amazing they hit hard and are great for what you get. I also have dynamat extreme in my car though aswell, so I cannot say that ive heard them in any other car but my own. From what I've had, it is an amazing subwoofer(s) and if wired properly will last you a very long time. Overall these subs are amazing and im glad I went with them and will continue to go with Power Acoustik Subwoofers in the future.

Excellent for the price!
by thespyder ,Jul 01 '05
Pros: loud, good sq for the price, better build quality, cool looking basket, spider-woven tinsel leads Cons: much larger footprint for fitting in 12-in prefab boxes, push terminals for speaker wire
I actually owned the FUBR-12 prior to these, and they were damaged in a car accident...so I went over to best buy and did the whole warranty thing, and since they didn't carry the FUBR anymore, i got upgraded to these FUBARs. I was skeptical at first, due to the change in voice coil configuration (dual 4-ohm coils instead of dual 2-ohm), but I finally got my new car and hooked them up to my PA 980/2, bridged, and they kick. They are not quite as loud as the FUBRs, but the SQ is way better. They have a lower Xmax, and that seems to clean up the low end muddiness that the previous model had. Bet with a more powerful amplifier, these things would decimate a lot more expensive stuff.

Fubar subwoofer
by spazicus ,Jan 05 '06
Pros: Can get loud with right box and amp Cons: Need lots of power to get loud, Sealed boxs are bad for it
Decent for the price but can get alot louder and i'm sure better if all you do is replace the sub box and amp to go full power. i am pleased with it for now but will upgrade the box and amp within a month. Sq is ok but i know the spl of the subs can hit harder with vented/ported box and a better amp that gives it more power

Strong Bass for the money
by scarecrowxy64 ,Jan 07 '08
Pros: Excellent bass for their cost. Cons: Sound is not so clean at high volumes.
I own one of these subs running on a Pyramid 1000w amp and Pyramid crossover. These speakers are as loud as my brother two Kicker twelves running the same at the the power level, however, I will say that the Kickers have a much more clean sounding bass. The Fubar would be better if the magnet was not so big. Use a ported or bandpass box a sealed box will most likely be destroyed by the bass of the Fubar 12.
I would highly recommend this speaker to anyone looking for lots of bass and little cost. These are great start-up speakers that will give some of the more pricey speakers a run for the money.
