Pros: Strong acting by Craig, wild action sequences and meaningful storyline Cons: May be too violent for some viewers
Summary: I recently watched a brief bio of Ian Fleming during which one of his children said that Daniel Craig was the most like the character of James Bond created by Mr. Fleming. After watching "Casino Royale" which was the first Bond film for Craig, I ... read more

Pros: A different entry in the 007 series Cons: Different isn't better in this case
Summary: This is the one case in the famed career of James Bond where he will not rest until he has some definitive answers. The movie "Quantum Of Solace" begins following the events of "Casino Royale." Bond (Daniel Craig) has Mr. White (Jesper Christensen), a ... read more

Pros: Nothing. Well, Gemma Arterton is hot. (But that's not very relevant.) Cons: Action scenes WAY too nausea inducing, plot hastily constructed.
Summary: I tell you one thing, seeing this crappy movie sure is a forgettable way to kick start an end of exams celebration with your closest mates. Being a dedicated Bond fan, I was less than pleased to see director Marc Forster having the nerve to change Bond ... read more

Pros: great cast, interesting ideas Cons: lame bad guy and Bond Girl, out of focus from a script perspective.
Summary: Quantum of Solace is, as are all James Bond films, big and boldly produced. It’s also a major disappointment. After successfully reinventing itself in Casino Royale, the series has taken a turn in the wrong direction with its most recent ... read more

Pros: Agent Fields, Felix Leiter, the Hotel Maid (cheap photo shot) Cons: M, M's cold creme, M's bathrobe, M's bathtub
Summary: OK. Perhaps my last comments were really a review of Casino not having seen QoS. Now I have seen it and there are so many problems with it I do not know where to begin. All the chases are herkey, jerky, shaky stuccato film clips. You can never really see ... read more

Pros: Daniel Craig, great locations including the trippy Bregenz Opera, interesting topical story Cons: poorly done action sequences, too-serious topical story, missing canonical Bond film components
Summary: I was somewhat of a cranky complainer about the last one and felt that Marc Forster might be able to make some progress. Therefore I thought it was only fair that I check in and give this one a ... read more

Pros: good chase scenes Cons: no gadgets, unimpressive Bond girl, villain and story
Summary: Director Marc Forster could very well have ruined Bond’s best comeback yet. After the high of Casino Royale I had faith in Daniel Craig’s new Bond prototype, rough around the edges and ruthless but still retaining some of the charm that ... read more

Pros: It's the shortest of the 007 series thus far. Cons: Bad Bond, stupid plot, weak villains, crap song, incomprehensible editing, and no good bond girls.
Summary: Sigh. Okay, let me preface this review with a bit of history. I've been a James Bond fan for decades now - my mom took me to see The Spy Who Loved Me in the theaters back in '77, and I've been hooked ever since. I've had all the films on ... read more

Pros: Acting of Craig and Dench is still top-notch. Phenomenal action scenes. Cons: Herky-jerky filming of the action. Paper thin story line.
Summary: I'll start off by admitting a few things......(1) I was a "doubting Thomas" when I heard of the Bond recasting with some blonde guy I'd never heard of before, and (2) my doubts completely evaporated after watching Casino Royale. So ... read more

Pros: Daniel Craig delivers excellent acting. M is always a strong female character. Plenty of action. Cons: Lackluster storyline -- it's been done. Die hard fans may find break from tradition annoying.
Summary: I am not a James Bond fan. If my hubby stumbles across a James Bond movie on cable I will find myself something else to do, more often than not. I did catch the end of the last one, which is good because without it I don't think ... read more

Nov 22 '08
Pros: Great action sequences, Newfound intensity and grit, Great acting especially from Mathieu Amalric Cons: Throws out almost all of the classic Bond trademarks and charm
Summary: "Quantum of Solace" is likely the most anticipated Bond film in decades. "Casino Royale" had some people excited because of the new crew that had stepped in to try and save the series from possible extinction because of the past few Bond's lacking a lot ... read more

Pros: Somewhat Intelligent, fast paced, great acting from Daniel Craig. Cons: Plot holes; boring at times; not well sewn together.
Summary: I am a life long James Bond fan. Ever since my older brother took me the see Live and Let Die back in 1974 staring Roger Moore in his first turn as the Bond, and a very young, delectable Jane Seymour, I have been hooked. Since that ... read more

Pros: More classic Bond-like moments, better music, more humor, less gore. Cons: Quick pace may confuse some viewers, plot twists may too.
Summary: When reading info about the upcoming movie, Quantum of Solace, I found out that it was based on a novel that Ian Fleming, creator of James Bond, had started writing after Casino Royale but never finished. He went on to write Live and Let Die next ... read more

Nov 19 '08
Pros: The Bond Girl that ain't a Bondgirl. Cons: Craig's Bond still has too much stoneface.
Summary: We are being given a whole new paradigm on James Bond with the Daniel Craig incarnation of the British superspy. Whereas the icon was that created by the intrepid actor Sean Connery, and all who followed after him were variations on his theme, Daniel ... read more

Pros: GREAT action sequences and lots of them. Daniel Craig. Cons: Not exactly intellectually stimulating. (Is that a "con"?)
Summary: When CASINO ROYALE came out a couple of years back, everyone called it a “reboot” of the Bond franchise. And in many ways, it was. The campy elements that had long been a part of the series were gone. The over-the-top ... read more
