Entertaining yet fairy tale
by crazyfinger ,Mar 10 '08
Pros: character of a mice as chef is not quite suitable yet very deceiving Cons: the animation quality looks like 5 years behind it was released.
This an amazing and entertaining story line of a mice chef who actually wanted and wished to be known as a chef due to his quite impressive ability as a young chef in a rat/mouse community. The main character is looking and pondering his life to find his true meaning rather being a typical rat as his siblings, family and friends. His journey starts when he is accidentally meet a heir of a restaurant who unfortunately does not have quite the talent to be a chef as others expected.

My Movie Experience with Rattatouie
by j_w25 ,Jul 07 '07
Pros: Shows one of Disney's quality storytelling staff. Cons: None, unless you are not in the movie's target audience.
I don't want to give away more of the movie than what you've seen in the previews. The premise of the film is a rat who poseses a gift to cook, and an adolescent boy finding his purpose in Paris, France. It is filled with excellent computer animation, jokes ranging from family to slapstick, a bit of drama and integrating a moral to the overall storyline...I highly recommend this movie.
Excellent character development. Very skillfully integrates the moral of the story with the Disney/Pixar style of humor. Great for kids and still lots of entertainment value for adults.

Simply, a fantastic movie.
by pigjubby ,Jul 02 '07
Pros: Everything about it. Cons: I could not find one.
I am not one to see a movie twice in the theater, but I am going to take my mom and sister to see this one. My niece and wife loved it as well as I. the theater was hot with poor air, the seats were old, but it didn't matter. This movie was just perfect. It was so refreshing to see such a great story, great animation and characters that had so much emotion to them. I loved it. I recommend it to everyone, even the guys at my fire station.

One of the decade's top three animation to be.
by felicia_l ,Jul 17 '07
Pros: Exquisite work of art! Cons: Can't think of one.
Superb! is what I think about the movie, and I still think its underrated. Ratatouille is one of those animations that are going to stick in your mind for decades if not for life. Personally, I think it is one of the three best animations since year 2000 besides Monsters, Inc. and The Incredibles. Ratatouille has successfully captured and combined the reality and imagination. Ratatouille is like a random idea of its creator/s who was contemplating on rats inside restaurant's kitchen that was later developed into a masterpiece where the mood, culture, the arts, and the characters' personalities are being polished into excellence. I bet the creator and animation teams have done extensive research on the French culture prior to constructing the movie. Every single detail in Ratatouille was meticulously built and it is what makes the movie highly entertaining and even educative. Not only are the overall theme beautiful and the animation exquisite, the story was also highly inspirational. Ratatouille has accomplished its most important task that I think most movies should be able to bring about, which is to transport the audience to their world.

The movie as a whole!
by gymbug ,Nov 27 '07
Pros: Great story line, different choice of characters (rats), Funny, about food! Cons: The million of rats it was kind of scary and disturbing.
Even though this movie has a lot to do with rats, they did a pretty good job portraying the rats. The fact that the rat had a dream and accomplished it also gives the movie something extra. It allows children and people of all ages to laugh and be inspired at the same time.

Predictable--up to a Point!
by literarygene ,Jul 08 '07
Pros: Characters developed well enough to be liked. Cons: Predictable plot line easily found in many other movies.
Predictable plot line with the boy getting the girl at the end, father rat becomes more open-minded, & underdog rat achieves his dream at end. These cliches are found throughout numerous novels, other movie plot lines, and hey, even commercials.
Yet I did enjoy the movie because the color was vivid/life like and pacing of action scenes was great.

Ratatouille, stunning!
by anthonyiacono ,Aug 02 '08
Pros: Stunning animation, funny. Cons: Hard to pronounce!
Ratatouille follows Pixar's obvious strength in animation, as well as humorous staff of writers. Associating food and rats seems as a difficult task, but somehow Disney and Pixar figured out how to lighten the situation and get everyone smiling.
