Pros: Price, location, rooms, concierge, convenient Cons: Prices can be high at times, not always a good view
Most of the time, when I go to New York City, I like to stay at least a night so that I can really enjoy what the city has to offer without worrying about time constraints. I dont live very far away, but its definitely worth it to stay if I can ...

Pros: Fantastic location. Fantastic prices. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Cons: Advertised wireless access did not work everywhere.

Pros: Location Cons: Suspect business practises
I chose the Red Roof Inn Manhattan after getting some information from other reviews. I have often stayed at Red Roof Inns, and had a Loyalty Certificate (free night's stay) which I was (supposed to) be able to use there. We were booked for two nights. Days before my trip, I suffered a serious car accident, and could not go. My girlfriends could still go, so I sent them with a letter stating the events that had occurred, sent my credit card, etc., and thought that it should be honored considering the circumstances. Not only did they not allow use of the certificate, they charged my friends almost DOUBLE the rate of the second night (about $190.00 on a Monday night, original price should have been $102.00) Because my friends were weary from the travel, they did not search out an alternate location. The people at the desk were very rude to them. When I spoke to Red Roof representative directly afterwards, the lady I spoke to was sympathetic, but explained that this particular hotel is franchise owned, so basically, they go by their own rules. Not a customer service oriented property.
