Pros: 3-in-1: scanner, inkjet printer, colour photocopier, cheap, lots of photocoping options Cons: scanner lacking in quality
Before I begin, I've been staring at the picture shown with the Lexmark Color JetPrinter Z82 for a while. I have no idea why there are three printers shown, because this one doesn't look like any of those. Unless I got the model wrong, nope, it's the...

Pros: Functionality, Stability, Quality Cons: No Backlight on LED, and Cartridges can be costly if you buy new
I have been using inkjet printer and such for quite a while now, and have run into most of the major brands. They all seem to have pluses and minuses.
I have been using Lexmark for the past 4 years starting with a Z31, then moving to a Z43 and...

Pros: high quality printing, compact machine replaces 3 others, easy to use Cons: manual paper feed is difficult to use
About 8 months ago, I was wandering through the isles of Best Buy and happened upon a Lexmark Representative demonstrating the Lexmark Z82 printer. I stopped to ask him a few questions and he printed a few pages for me to see the quality of text...

Pros: Heavy enough to hold open the heaviest doors even in a strong wind. Cons: lousy, expensive cartridges, easily-clogged print nozzles
I bought this because I needed a new scanner and it looked like a pretty good idea. Handy to have a scanner, printer, copier all in one. Well, it would be. However, if you don't regularly use this printer, the print nozzles jam up so badly that even a ...

Pros: Very nice quality, takes up half the space as three machines. Cons: Scanner resolution isn't the greatest.
I have always been pleased with the HP products including their printers and scanners. When I went to look for both a printer and a scanner i found this Lexmark on sale for a very resonable price and decided to purchase it. Since this date i have been...

Not XP Compatible!
by dspindler1 ,Dec 05 '04
Pros: Adequate copier Cons: Not XP compatible, terrible support, expensive cartridges
If you are using Windows XP do not buy this printer. Lexmark does not support it nor will they admit that there's a problem. Replacement cartridges are among the highest priced on the market. I will never buy another Lexmark product.

Do Not buy this piece of Junk
by acruxksa ,Mar 06 '04
Pros: -NONE- Cons: -No support for Windows XP-
I've owned this printer/scanner (that's what it was billed as when I bought it back before the release of Windows XP) for a few years now and it is an OK printer, but is worthless as a scanner because Lexmark doesn't support it. There is no scanning software for windows XP (or win 2000). I don't think there ever will be either. If you still have Win98 go for it, but if you even have the thought of upgrading to Windows XP you will be the owner of a monstrously large mediocre printer with no scanning abilities.

Xp Support for those interested.
by hamish07 ,Dec 25 '06
Pros: Free Cons: Dirty and left for dead. XP support nowhere to be found easily.
I just found (left for free in my apartment building) one of these units. With the exception of being dusty it worked right away. However, the printer driver you download doesnt support the scanner function in XP/2000 and Lexmark cant seem to put the software link on the website. However, Samsung (I think they own Lexmark or partnered with them) has the SmartThru software you need to use the scanner portion. SmartThru3 is available from Samsungs website and works just fine with XP. In fact the scanner does a good job imho. The cartridges are empty in this unit (surprise) but I will try some refills if they are pricey.
