Pros: Easy to install. Cons: Poor for gaming, poor support, no DMZ host, 1 port, unable to downgrade firmware.
The 2Wire Homeportal 100 arrived and, yes, it looked bigger and bulkier than most. I was, however, able to put that fact aside if it installed easily and did not give me as much grief as my friends Linksys did when we were trying to set his up.

Pros: Cost, ease of use, footprint Cons: Instructions could use some tweaking ...
After studying a variety of home-networking solutions, I finally settled on 2Wire. Generally, I was seeking the easiest setup at the lowest price – even though I am quite knowledgeable about all this stuff. I simply don’t want to spend hours upon hours...

Pros: Easiest Home-Networking Imaginable! Cons: Ummmm...ok....maybe it's a little big.
I Don't Know About This?
I discovered this little gem a little over a year ago while surfing the net. From what the website claims about this baby, you would have to believe it's a scam...I mean, could anything really be this cool? Well, I...

Pros: Cost, ease of setup, ease of use, zero configuration Cons: Mine didn't work, company wont return email or calls
I decided to get a firewall. I am a CNE and didn't think I should be without one given the amount of bandwidth I use up on a daily basis.
I looked around on the web, and in stores. I came across the 2wire Model 100 and saw it had everything...

Pros: easily create a home network with great flexibility and support Cons: a little bulky, and Win98 is the minimum OS
2 months ago, SBC (PacBell) made DSL available in my neighborhood. 2Wire is the only gateway supported by Pacbell. At first I set up a DSL modem for one PC, and then 2 weeks later I added in the Home Portal 100 Residential Gateway so that I could hook...

Pros: Flexible - wireless, homepna and ethernet routing. Fast. Lots of status screens and options Cons: Used to be good tech support, no longer. Freezes up.
I had a homeportal 100, worked like a charm for about six months. I used the wireless portion, which had weak coverage - it was in one bedroom and I was in another with a wireless laptop, maybe 35' away, two walls, I got a medium level signal and 4mb/s...

Pros: Easy to install; decent firewall and USB support Cons: Habitually short lifespan
The 2Wire HomePortal 100 is the standard issue broadband modem for SBC customers in the Little Rock area. It came installed with our service around April 2003. Around October 2003, we started noticing sporadic outages of our DSL service. (I work ...
