Sony CRX320AE/U CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Drive

Pros: For the price, none.
Cons: High price, poor reliability.

I bought this product after receiving a few DVD items for Christmas, and having no DVD drive I decided to buy a CD/DVD combo.

After installing it, it seemed to work fine. However, I noticed right away that DVD quality was poor. Pulling out a favorite movie collection, I noticed every DVD it played had problems with skipping, image degradation, and even moments where the drive had to stop and rescan, which usually lead to my computer freezing up for a few moments. I tried this out on various DVDs to the same effect.

Then it came time to install a DVD-ROM game I had received. The first install looked fine, until I noticed some corrupt files. I tried reinstalling only to find apparently the DVD drive failed to work any longer.

My final word is, do not purchase this drive. For it's cost it is not worth buying.

Pros: the reading quality is rather good
Cons: can not write without error!!!!!!!

bought it 2 month ago and now I realized that i burned some of the cd's i burned with errors on them .tried the verify option and each time i got "cyclic redundancy error " while verifying.at last i burned a cd-rw with 4x and verification was ok but it is impossible to write cd-r with 4x cause the slowest option you have is 12x.totally disappointed with sony.
