A late review of an early PDA

by brianutah , Apr 05 '06
Pros: Cheap! Nice deskstand!
Cons: Old technology. Obsolete and useless web browser
It's April 2006, and I just upgraded to a new PDA, so this review is about the old unit. I’ve always been a late adopter of technology. Not because I’m a Luddite, but because new technology is so damn expensive. Take this phone, new it cost over ...

Happy Overall !!!!

by dlowe03 , Nov 27 '05
Pros: All in one device, Dial from address book, Apps and Games on the go
Cons: Don't Change batteries, Cost, Color screen could be better , Hard to see in daylight
I got the I300 back in January 02. I have had a chance to play with and use this device a lot. I am an engineer... pager, phone, palm, laptop.... I had more gadgets than Batman... many of you know what I mean. This purchase was an attempt to eliminate...

All in all, IT ROCKS!

by csherman , May 01 '03
Pros: Small (relatively), sleek, lightweight -- a real eye turner
Cons: Screen brightness, no 3G compatibility, no downloadable ring tones, ringer too quiet, battery life weak
Moving from the Kyocera 6035 I had high expectations, and I must say that I have not been disappointed! I loaded all kinds of hacks for the palm, and there are terrific ones coming out weekly from companies like PDAApps that further tie the palm to the...

Don't buy the samsung/sprint sph-i300.

by sybucat , Mar 31 '03
Pros: none
Cons: battery life
This phone is junk. The battery life is very short, not close to what the book said. The internal battery life is also, very short. The book said about 24 hours, but IRL it is about 3 minutes. I took the phone back to the Sprint store (Sprint PCS 5225...

You'll never carry a palm pilot separately again.

by holeydonut2k3 , Mar 05 '03
Pros: Great execution and usability. Stylish.
Cons: Is first of its kind offered by Samsung - could use improvement
Perhaps you may be able to relate - You empty your pockets at the end of the day and realize that you're carrying around way too many electronic devices in your pockets. Enter the SPH-I300... a great solution for Sprint PCS customers which does a great...

Good first try; still needs a ton of work.

by tsiegman , Feb 03 '03
Pros: One less item to carry; it's a topic of conversation.
Cons: First Generation Product Still Has Major Flaws
The more I use the I300, the less I like it. It chews through standard batteries, and the extended life battery doesn't fit in the provided carrying case. Actually, the darn thing is such a thick brick that it's hard to carry anyways.

Other...

Is it worth it?

by godzthunder , Jan 01 '03
Pros: analog/digital, comes with second batter, cradle, case
Cons: bulky, poor battery life, screen not visible in sunlight
I bought my I300 off of ebay used for only $250. (At the time it sold new for $450). I consider this a great deal as the phone came in almost new condition with only 3 hours talk time at all!

After taking the usual three days to become 100%...

This phone isn't for everyone!

by djrobsd , Aug 29 '02
Pros: 1 Device for everything Beautiful design Great battery life Caller ID on top
Cons: Large size Display unreadable in sun No add on memory Email difficult
I have never been good with PDA's. I buy them, and they end up sitting at home, or in the car, and I never use them because I hate to lug them around with me all the time. Also, all the previous ones I have owned did not come with rechargable...

One Of A Kind Love Affair

by Chess613 , Aug 08 '02
Pros: Best phone/PDA you could ask for - it's the best technology can offer!
Cons: will freeze on you; bigger than most phones
Here's what happened: I had a Qualcomm phone that lost its antenna and I wasn't getting any calls coming in on my phone (the caller would be sent to my voicemail and a half hour later, I got a message) - not only that, I foolishly threw my PDA in the...

Combo PDA+phone is cool

by theinnergeek , Jul 23 '02
Pros: VERY high on the "cool!" scale; combo PDA actually works; constructed well.
Cons: EXPENSIVE; only works with Sprint's PCS service; takes some getting used to.
Background
My writer/director wife had become a two-fisted double-barreled gunslinger. She'd often find herself with her PalmPilot III open in one hand and her Nokia 8260 cell phone in her other hand, thumbs tapping at the respective keypads...

Great little package

by poelmanc , May 31 '02
Pros: Tri-mode cell phone, color Palm Pilot, web & email in a small package, Outlook synchronization
Cons: Graffiti writing requires some practice, dim screen in sunlight, poor speakerphone pickup
I had been wanting one of these for several months, I almost held off when I heard that Samsung is coming out with a new version of this phone, but that appears to still be many months away and will have mainly cosmetic changes. I've been very happy with...

Samsung's I300. It's a Cell Phone. It's a Color Palm. It's a Gadget Lover's Dream!

by jag2112 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, May 29 '02
Pros: Impressive color display. Attractive case. 8MB of memory. Good phone features.
Cons: Very expensive. Power-hungry.
The night was ... sultry. Even within the air conditioned confines of the local Starbucks coffee shop, the humidity of the early spring heat wave made its presence known. Sweat glistened on the foreheads of those retreating from the heat; searching for...

Palm PDA/Phone? Color screen? YIPPEE! So Cool!

by CreamChief , May 27 '02
Pros: It's a color Palm! Crisp clear, lots of features.
Cons: Battery life, screen in daytime.
After about six months of using this phone, I think I am ready to write this review. I used the Kyocera smart phone for a few months before getting the Samsung, and, wow, is this so much better!

The basics

This is a...

Phone, Palm and Wallet Combined!

by jfkadish , May 16 '02
Pros: All in one solution * Impress your friends!
Cons: No buttons for dialing * Dim in sunlight
I have had the I300 for a little over a month and I am satisfied with it. I no longer have to carry a phone, a palm and my wallet, I just carry the I300 with the leather case that came with it to hold my credit cards. The biggest gripe I have is not...
