I'm stuck with this for 2 years!

by swe3tnsour820 , Jul 23 '04
Pros: its cool and cute
Cons: its cool and cute for now until i mess it up.
A few weeks ago I felt that I had to upgrade my old phone, a big, chunky old Nokia 3360. I had that for 2 years, and 2 years ago I thought i was so cool for having a phone. Well, we all know that it is impossible to keep up with technology and all my ...

Good, not great

by compcrazy , Dec 20 '05
Pros: Reception, Menu, Memory, Organizer, Handsfree Port, Service light
Cons: Loud Speakerphone, No normal ringtones, Folder tone
This is probably one of the best phones I think we've ever had! We bought it at Rogers after our Motorola C350 was getting a little too boring, and plus we also got a 128 MB mp3 player. The phone has a very good amount of space, pretty good battery ...

Pros: Works great at its original job, a telephone. Calls sound fine, reception is decent.
Cons: Slow as a snail processor. Various quirks keep it from being great.
I bought this phone because I had had enough of my nokia 3590. I started having battery problems and realized that it was just a poorly designed phone. Looking back now it wasn't so bad. Nokia has been around a while, at least long enough to realize how a phone should work. It seems with samsung that they should do some more research. The phone just has little quirks about it that when i see them i think: "Nokia had this right". I think i like the samsung better but still its obvious its not perfect. The phonebook on the phone is poorly designed, unable to easily organize the numbers. The entire operating system is too streamlined. Samung I need more options!

GET SOFTWARE UPGRADE
by robanstee ,Aug 16 '04
Pros: The phone itself is cool. good ringtones, small, sleek.
Cons: um... it didn't WORK (at least not very well)
Basically, this phone STINKS with the 1.5 software from AT&T. They discovered this problem in January - I ordered the phone in August and STILL got the old software. AT&T says it's Samsung's fault. Currently I am on hold (1 hour and counting) with Samsung. I swear if they tell me I have to ship it to them and wait for a replacement, I will go ballistic.

My problem is I already activated the GSM service on my phone, so I can't go back to my old reliable Digital phone. When you take this phone out of the box, FIRST THING - check the software version by entering *#9999#. If it says 1.5 X46UEWJ5 then SEND IT BACK. Do NOT activate it. It will sound like a 10 year old cell phone.

The phone itself is cool. It's a little hard to see the display in direct sunlight, but otherwise it's cool.

Good phone
by ahikernamedgq ,Nov 03 '04
Pros: Size, portability, metal case, style, battery life, games, screen quality, *durability*
Cons: Mediocre signal strength
I got this phone after dropping my previous Seimens phone on the pavement once. I wanted a more durable phone and the guy at the at&t wireless store told me he dropped his all the time. So . . .

I have dropped this a lot, on pavement, on the hardwood floor, on dog and small children . . .j/k. It's metal case is quite protective.

I have played cool color games on it many times on the long train ride from downtown Chicago to my apartment. They're really fun.

The call quality is good and the portability of this phone is excellent. It's amazing that it so small; I get feedback about that all the time. I have the smoke colored plastic clip holster for it and most of the time I clip it to the outside of my right side pants pocket.

I use the included headset often and the battery life is long. I took it on a trip and didn't charge it it lasted for 3 1/2 days before dying.

SAMSUNG X426
by johnhomer44 ,Aug 12 '04
Pros: Pretty phone, a lot of features as far as making the phone look good.
Cons: What good is a pretty phone if you almost never can get a signal!
This is the worst cell phone I ever owned! I have to be lucky to get a signal or not to get cut off in the middle of a conversation. It even takes time to search for a signal and I never have more than two bars. I bought this phone because of its many features, what a mistake that was. Its so frustrating to see other people talking on their cell phones and I have to walk around just to get one bar. When your call finally goes through its unclear most of the time when your trying to listen to the person on the other end. After a while it tells you the call has ended because you lost the signal. Ive tried this phone in many different places and still get the same results. I would not recommend this phone to anyone. There are more quality phones out there for the money.

Phone might be alright but service is bad!
by knightonm ,May 15 '04
Pros: Cute, stylish, not that expensive
Cons: No external caller id, No speakerphone
I switched from Sprint to At&t in December. I wished I never did. I thought Sprint was ripping me off, I didn't start getting ripped off until At&t. First I had the Siemens M56, the reception was bad all the time(I thought it was the phone) then I got the Samsung x426. I thought it was so cute until I answered the phone and no one could hear me. My voice was breaking up as I was talking on the phone, and I was outside. It still does that till this day.

Nice Phone with nice features
by afwun ,May 26 '04
Pros: Lightweight, compact, easy to use, nice color screen
Cons: Charging port attachment easy to lose, clarity could be better
We just switched to AT&T from Verizon, because they offered much better plans, although I knew that the coverage was not as good as Verizon. I got this phone for free for my wife, because she wanted a flip phone for her purse. She loves the size and weight of the phone as well as the features. She didn't want anything too complex. The only thing that she doesn't like about it is that the signal is intermittent at home and will sometimes drop calls in the middle of a conversation. I don't know if it's the area we live in or just that the phone doesn't receive a good signal. My phone (Nokia 6800) seems to get a little better reception overall. We'll probably end up turning it in for a different phone and hopefully the coverage will continue to get better with AT&T. They've come a long way in the past two years.

A very cool phone in a tiny package
by morpheusxp ,Feb 14 '04
Pros: Small,color screen,(loud)poly ringers,picks up great.
Cons: No external caller ID
I have enjoyed my new Samsung x426 from the moment I got it. Its very small easy to throw in your pocket and go. It has a color screen downloadable polyphonic ringtones. BTW on some handsets the poly ringtones are very faint. Not with this lil booger. It has the loudest ringer of any phone I've ever had. It has really clear voice quality too. Basically I just love it all around.

COUNDN'T BE WORSE
by jeskoy ,Oct 04 '04
Pros: Nice looking, clear screen.
Cons: Reception, lack of useful features, microphone location, text input style, sensitive antenna.
I could not be less happy with a phone. I have had Motorolas, Panasonics, Nokias and had swimming success. This Samsung is REALLY disappointing. The reception is really weak, the microphone is terrible and the text system is antiquated. If you can get reception, you sound like you are talking through a wet sock and the person you are talking to will only hear every other word.

I have never written a review before in my life, but this phone is THAT bad. There is a reason they stopped selling this phone and started handing them out for free. It is truly useless. Save your self a headache and buy a Nokia.

Love The Samsung x426
by cubby68 ,Jun 29 '04
Pros: small, stylish, lightweight, color screen
Cons: no external caller id. charger cover easily lost.
I had a Nokia and hated it. It was bulky and would give me problems. I never had a good signal. Finally, after seeing an ad I decided it was time to buy a new phone. Searched online and checked out the AT&T store.

I loved the way the Samsung looked. I researched a little and found that people who had the phone were very happy with it.

I ordered the phone on Wednesday and received it Friday.

I absolutely love the phone. I love the bright color screen and how lightweight it is.

I have a good signal in my house which I never had before with my Nokia.

I will say that even though an external caller id would be nice I don't find it an inconvenience to open the phone.

Of course after about four days of having the phone I lost the charger cover.

Everything is easy to understand and easy to use.

I love my Samsung x426
