Pros: Sharp picture and great brightness. Samsung makes their own panels. Cons: None so far.
I read lots of reviews and looked at many monitors at retail stores. The resolution and sharpness of the flat panels are so much better than the CRTs. The Samsung monitors looked the best to me and had good reviews. I wanted a 19" with DVI input so I ...

Pros: I have a desktop again! Cons: Monitor stand doesn't swivel well.
Early last year, our hospital switched over to 15" flat panel monitors for everyone. I discovered then, how nice it was to actually have a desktop! At home I had a 17" monitor, which was huge and bulky and practically sat in my lap. On an impulse buy, ...

Pros: Thin, light and just plain cool looking! Cons: Adjusting the height or rotating it isn't easy. The stand is a bit too stiff.
I was very wary of these flat panels. That all changed when my roommate bought his 191T. First, just ...

Pros: Slimline and space saving; good for office work Cons: Colors off and dark
While the Samsung Syncmaster 191 T is absolutely beautiful and coordinates perfectly with Dell and other charcoal computer systems, it had color problems.
I purchased the 191 T based on a variety of reviews which stated how bright and clear it...

Pros: Very Sharp picture, works well with Linux and Windows 2K Cons: Video playback could be better and the price is high
I just recently purchased this monitor and I must say it has a great picture. When you couple that with the fact that it does not take up nearly as much space as my Sony 19 CRT it is right on. The only issues I have with it are that while the fonts are...

Great Monitor - Owned 8 months
by croakerm ,Dec 25 '03
Pros: Colors, Size, Viewing area (can see from all angles) Cons: None so far.
I bought this monitor about 8 months ago. Great piece of equipment, very bright and vivid colors, nice refresh and no ghosting. (At least with the games I play.)
Tips: If your going from a CRT, this monitor will appear a bit brighter than what you are used to. -- Turn down the brightness level.
Get a good graphics card. I use a nVidia GeForce4 Ti 4200.
(A good amount of complaints I see on these boards are from users not buying a good graphic processor card. "You need" to have a good one to have your monitor work correctly.)
Do not install the graphic programs (i.e. swivel mode) and color programs that come with the monitor. Let your graphics card take care of these functions. (That is, if you were smart enough to buy a good one.)

Good value for the money
by nicoleathome ,Sep 19 '03
Pros: Clarity, features, value and awesome pivot feature. Cons: Wish I would have gotten the 21"
I found the Samsung to be a good balance of performance, value and, features. It offered me a crystal clear picture, two input modes (with cords), enough adjustments to get exactly what I need from it and a really cool pivot feature that makes document editing much easier.
