Pros: Good Picture, convenient size, easy to hook up. Cons: Power buttons on top, low quality sound
I recently purchased this TV to add an HDTV to the bedroom. The 26" size was perfect. The TV is really pretty light and I could easily lift it on top of the dresser by myself. As far the connectivity, this TV has one HDMI input as well as an ...

Pros: Price, Size, Features, Picture Quality Cons: Inconsistent Sound, Bad Component Video, Channel Lag
I got really lucky and managed to snag this set of Craigslist for a mere $350! The seller told me the DVD portion was broken, hence the low price. After I got home I took it apart and found that somebody had stuffed THREE DVDs into the player. Once I got ...

Pros: Low price, good starter 720p HDTV. Cons: Blacks aren't true black, doesn't do 1080p, DVDs can pixelate in gradients.
Right now I use my Sharp LC26DV20U only for gaming and playing DVDs. The DVD player runs fine, however if you have your face right up to the screen while a movie's playing, you will see a slight pixelation between color gradients/shadowing. When ...

Picture is OK for the price, not all DVD formats supported
by newton_nerd ,Oct 03 '06
Pros: Low cost, TV DVD combo, bright sharp colors Cons: 5sec channel switch time, cannot play DVD+R or DVD without Region Code, low contrast
Good TV for the price, picture is sharp and with good colors even with low-level analog signal from air antenna. Cable-signal picture is good also. Some problems with back light, (black is not completely black, rather gray, which reflected in a spec: 1:600contrast ratio only), but with manual adjustments it can be made less noticeable.
Some features are not well designed:
Annoying delay time of 3-5 sec when switching channels.
DVD player spec states it can play DVD-Video and DVD-R or DVD-RW disks only.
I tested it and it can also play DVD "plus RW". Unfortunately, it refused to play DVD "plus R" disks and converted from the VCR tape to DVD of any record method (+R or -R) family films (home-made disks WITHOUT a REGION CODE). These limits are particularly cumbersome because it only requires proper firmware in DVD player.

Terribly Slow Receiver
by robertears ,Feb 12 '07
Pros: Nice design. Cons: Slow to display picture when changing channels.
I liked this TV until I began flipping thru the channels. It took 4 or 5 seconds for the picture to appear on each channel. If that doesn't sound bad, consider wasting half a minute to flip thru six channels. For me, a buzz-kill. I was hoping this was only temporary (while the TV learned the channels) but it continued. I contacted Sharp. Their representative said that was the way the TV was designed. I asked Emily for a written statement saying it was so, but she refused. I asked for a supervisor who also said it was "impossible" to send me something in writing. Instead, she said my only recourse was to take the TV to an authorized repair center. I contacted the service center who was 4 weeks behind schedule.
Unless you're the Slowskis, avoid this TV.
