Pros: Excellent kid and family flick. Cons: Some themes might be a bit heavy for the little ones.
Summary: Shrek the Third (2007) is yet another animated installment based upon William Steig's 1990 fairy tale. Much like the previous sequels a lot has remained the same except this time directors Chris Miller and Raman Hui (co-director) take the helm ... read more

Pros: light hearted, short, comical Cons: lacks the clever humor of the first two
Summary: My expectations were low going into this movie as I think that sequels often have a disappointing edge to them. I'm always comparing to the original it seems. Although I was entertained by this little flick, I felt like it was produced too quickly and ... read more

Pros: Franchise characters family friendly and dependable, still rather amusing story line. Cons: Perhaps this franchise has run it's course, and this should be the last installment.
Summary: All good things must come to an end. I was surprised to see age set in on cartoon characters, they all seemed a little tired. Shrek, Donkey and Puss & Boots, even Princess Fiona seemed to have aged. Their voices sounded older, they lacked the sense of ... read more

Pros: A few large laughs. Cons: Shrek keeps getting softer and softer
Summary: You know what was so wonderful about the original Shrek? It was the way that the screenwriters absolutely roasted the Disney family of characters. Not only the Disney characters, but all of the so called wholesomeness that they were supposed to ... read more

Pros: A funny line or three. Cons: Essentially manufactured crap.
Summary: The summer of 2007 has been supersaturated with SFX-extravaganzas and tenuous "comedies;" Shrek the Third is no exception. For an animated picture that took over three years to make, the whole piece seems rather rushed; let's get to the plot ... read more

Pros: Great movie Cons: None
Summary: We went to see Shrek the Third not too long ago. My daughter is 4 and adores Shrek and Fiona. She has seen the first two movie and just had to see the third one. I was also ready to see it. I liked the first two movies myself. It is kind of hard not to ... read more

Pros: Still great almost life-like animation Cons: A big disappointment, not even comparable to the laughter from Shrek 1 & 2
Summary: When I first heard that they were making Shrek the third, I could barely retain my excitement as the first two were so hilariously funny and cleverly put together. Before its release I watched the trailers and thought, it's STILL funny! We saw the ... read more

Pros: Banderas' voice, intermittent laughs Cons: nothing new or innovative, too much of the same as before
Summary: The last and the least of the three highly anticipated third movies, Shrek the Third serves up more of the same in what will hopefully be the last of the franchise. After the hype, which should never be taken as an indicator of a film's worth, Shrek the ... read more

Pros: The humor, the characters are back, the villains Cons: Overlooked story line
Summary: Is it happily ever after after all? Just when you think Shrek finally gets to go home to his filthy swamp, something else comes up. "Who's ready for thirds?" (tagline) "Shrek the Third" continues the adventures of the endearing ogre, Shrek, and his ... read more

Pros: Worth a few laughs here and there. Cons: Completely forgettable. By the end of the movie I had forgotten the beginning.
Summary: The Shrek series is dead. Shrek the Third is to Shrek 2, in terms of quality, as Shrek 2 is to the original Shrek. There is simply no comparing the movies - it's alarming. Shrek was a masterpiece; Shrek ... read more

Pros: The acting and animation are still fine Cons: Story is stale and sometimes senseless
Summary: Film sequels often find themselves in the unenviable position of building on the original movie. The third installment can prove to be more difficult to follow. Such is the case with the Shrek series. Even in the first installment of the series ... read more

Pros: Great animation. Decent humor. Brings closure to the series. Cons: None.
Summary: I must admit that I had not seen any of the movies from the Shrek series. Last week, that all changed with a trip to Blockbuster, a call to Papa John’s, and a comfortable sofa to relax on. Having only seen small clips on television and elsewhere ... read more

Pros: Same lovable cast, great new additional voices, Great one liners, Cons: Plot not played out well, too much star power, ending seemed mashed together
Summary: Having enjoyed the first two Shrek movies, I was looking forward to seeing Shrek the Third. The previous two Shrek movies had something for both the younger set, as well as the adults. With the addition of voices from Eric Idle and Justin Timberlake, I ... read more

Pros: Some funny scenes Cons: Many scenes felt rehashed.
Summary: I can honestly say that Mike Meyers Shrek is my favorite ogre. I laughed out loud at the first two, and thought Dreamworks Studios jabs at Disney and classic fairy tales was sharp, pointed and very funny. Alas like Jurassic Park and Terminator, the Third ... read more
