Pros: Nice built-in 7-band equalizer
Above average usability for Sony
XM compatible Cons: When used with Sony XM Radio, shows only 8 characters of artist or song title.
After owning a Pioneer Premier DEN-P520 for over a year, I decided to replace it with the Sony CDX-MP70 so I could add XM radio, and have a radio with a 7-band equalizer to even out the frequency response of my MB Quartz speakers in my Subaru Outback....

Pros: options, amp, mp3 playback, faceplate, colors! Cons: radio reception, tiny buttons
I bought this car receiver only a few months after it was first released. Retail price was $499.99. Normally I would never pay this much as a much cheaper stereo would suffice for most people. I do work at a major electronics store so I got a nice hefty...

Pros: Great sound, quick loading, nice display, overall looks nice. Cons: faceplate removal, Made in Korea. Scratches on an mp3 cd cause skip easily
Why buying a new Headunit?: For me I was looking for acouple of things. Switching from an Acura integra cd player that skipped often certain times(due to dust on the CD, and cold weather), The Sony unit had some nice features, bright display, easy ...

Pros: Simple controls. mp3/cdr compatible!! Great sounding. Sweet Display. Cons: No Slot Load. you must insert disc into tray.
Checkin this one out for a while!! finally installed. The deck looks amazing in real life. The matrix display readout where you see the track titles (not to mention the ID3 tags from your mp3s) is a little small- but it's tolerable. The clairity and...

Pros: Great looks, performance and display Cons: Main buttons don't hide, so it makes the carry case too big
I've always used Pioneer brand for my car sound equipment. But when I tried the MP3 player from Pioneer I was so disappointed I started to look other brands. I found the Sony CDX MP70, I liked its looks and the color changing display, but wait, when I...

Pros: Sony Sound!!! The CD Receiver that is unskipable Cons: Display fades sometimes only when not firmly in slot.
$250's for this product is awesome. Retail is $399.99 and I would even consider that a good deal. This is the coolest Cd player. It has seven selectable colors and text display. The rotary knobs are great replacement to the buttons because they save...

Pros: Great features, awesome accessory remote, fast MP3 seek time Cons: Gets hot quickly, slow cd ejection
This is a great CD/MP3 receiver. Solid features make it a great investment. The MP3 playback is great. Seek time is fast and quick which is great since you can fill a single CD with thousands of tracks. The jog dials are great and make navigating through...

Pros: Sounds GREAT, looks GREAT (without being too flashy) Cons: The face plate connection might be a little too fragile?
I replaced my Pyle (of crap) MP3 player today with this beautiful machine, and I could not be happier. Wow. My system sounds at least 6 times as good as it did before. The bass, treble and mids are all perfectly clean. The only bad thing about the sound...

Great Navigation, But poor quality Laser
by pookguy ,Sep 22 '03
Pros: easiest way of navigating thru loads of MP3s knobs are a good thing Cons: poorly manufactured the laser, no jumping dolphins, XM radio badging amounts to nothing
the main reason i picked this MP3 deck over any other was the ability to use a dial to navigate thru tons of MP3 files. most to all of the decks on the market now have buttons you need to press and hold to get to the 121st song.
i purchased this deck Dec 26,2002, and on Sep 21,2003 the laser on the deck has died on me. i told the tech guy at the local stereo shop the symptoms of the deck. the tech guy said "yep, i've seen bad lasers on the mp40's and the mp70's all the time".
as for the rest of the features of this deck, the visuals are minimal, which i liked. i dont think id want to be looking at dolphins while i drive anyways, nor do i want anyone else to be whos gonna be driving. the power(watts) is good enuff for me.
