Pros: Auto Calibration, Numerous sound fields, easy to use, cheap! Cons: Low Quality sub woofer enclosure and other cheap stuff

Pros: Auto-Calibration, Numerous Sound fields, Easy to use, Cheap! Cons: Low quality sub-woofer enclosure and other cheap stuff
This low cost system is a rival to systems costing much more.
I bought this system cheap at Walmart to tide me over till I could afford something better. But I have discovered that I don't want anything more. I have a small acoustically difficult living room.(The speakers are placed equally spaced from one corner and the rear speakers are diagonally in the opposite corner). The system comes with a built-in calibration system with an included microphone. Plug in the microphone and connect it to a camera tripod (or whatever you have to get it at ear position) at the listening position. Then press the auto calibrate button and the system adjusts channel gain, and delay for each speaker. Leaving you to input speaker height (high or Low). This extraordinarily accurate speaker timing more than makes up for any short comings. Listen to Seven Bridges Road in DTS on The Eagles-Hell Freezes Over DVD and you will hear just what I am talking about. The system includes both optical and coaxial digital inputs and has a DTS decoder. (You can easily connect digital out on your digital TV and digital out on your DVD player.)

A Simple Dorm Room Theater with Fiber and Coax Inputs.

Pros: It's the only AC-3 5.1 Receivers I've found with its own Sub Amp built-in. Cons: It's not very loud because of the speaker sizes -- FM Stereo AC_3 ....
.. I had been looking for a Receiver to replace my old Quadraphonic Four Channel System that had its own AMP's built-in, instead of paying extra for what should have been included with the Receiver, and then I heard this system on a Display Rack. Listing to the sounds it was making caught me by surprise; the sounds were Clean ( not crispy like a Tweeter ) and not muffled ( like most car speakers are these days. ) When I started playing different DVDs via the Fiber Optic connection on my computer, I realized just how out of date the other Home Theaters were that other people had in their homes and I was a truly happy camper with this system. traxx, Mn - USA
