Pros: Great form factor -- small, light, easy to use. LCD Display Only Cons: LCD Display only. DVDs are expensive.
We were in the market to replace our mini-VHS-style video camera -- with the transition away from VHS, and the annoyance of having to carry around a separate mini-VHS-cassette to play the videos...not to mention the bulky camera itself, we found we just ...

Pros: Size, quality, and ease of use. Cons: Recording time
I purchased this camcorder about one year ago and love it so far. It is extremely compact and lightweight, it weighs about the same as a full size digital camera. I decided on the Sony because I have had a Sony Hi-8 for many years and have never had ...

Pros: Compact size. Stability control. Comfortable. VERY easy to operate. Records right onto a DVD. Cons: Doesn't accept full size DVDs. No case. Cannot charge a battery outside the camera.
The first thing one will be amazed by is the compact size of this Handycam and it's innovative shape. In a nutshell, it looks very much like a Sony Discman. I had a mini-dv video camera which was nice and all, but what a pain to view your videos on a ...

Great camcorder for the steady handed...
by hashbrown26 ,Apr 19 '06
Pros: ease of use, lightweight, disc access time is quick, great in daylight, cheap aftermarket disc batt Cons: video shakey, horrible video dark or underlight environ, photo capability is lame, comp software is buggy
Went to Italy for holiday and dvd camcorder was a must. The wife wanted video instead of pictures this time and I wanted to go w/ the latest cam tech. DVD cams are good (except the DVD-ROM only style) in the fact that you can burn a video to the mini DVD's and play them back on any regular stand alone dvd player. NO need to hook up the camcorder to the tv to play back. And Sony (maybe others) give the option of making a menu on the disc for scene/chapter playback.

Great Lil Machine
by rebelyellj ,Jun 06 '06
Pros: size, rw capbablity Cons: only constraints like any other dvd camcorder
I recently purchased this machine on Ebay for about $250.00
I can say after a week of using it that I love it.
It is so small and convienent. It burns to DVD-r or -rw +rw
It will play immediately on your dvd player and you dont have to only play it on a computer etc.
I have not started to edit yet but i'm not as interested in that as other tend to be. I just want a camcorder that acted like all the old ones used too but burn to DVDs and this is it.
Everyone else in the fam. loved it too.
