Pros: amazing image, nice size, Sony's high end quality Cons: none
My husband decided he needed a new TV, so after quite a bit of research he decided to purchase the Sony KDL-46XBR4 46 inch LCD TV. I have to say the research seems to have paid off, this is an amazing television. The 46XBR4 is a beautiful ...

Pros: Excellent picture, amazing black levels, beautiful looks, nice menus, ALL the latest features Cons: Cost, 1 of 3 hdmi ports on side
Were still in the next-morning after-glow, we got the set 2 weeks ago and so far even my nitpicking complaints are so minor as to be laughable. It emerged from the excellent packing in perfect condition, no dead pixels, perfect working order. ...

Pros: Color accuracy; Picture detail at 1080p; 120hz smoothing; 24fps compatibility; Black levels for an LCD Cons: Crippled PiP Functionality; No CableCard support; Very wide profile; Lack of Local Dimming technology
Strengths: Color Accuracy—After some calibration I found the color accuracy excellent. In fact it surpassed my expectations in this department so much so that I’m considering not having professional calibration done. The fact that the XBR4 didn't ...

Pros: Best picture quality in industry, premium features and options, exceptional quality of design. Cons: Bulky bezel design adds extra real estate to the unit.
The times of pot bellied CRT TV screens with fuzzy picture and mono sound, are long gone by and the LCD and Plasma are new buzz words when it comes to TV screens. But not only has the clarity of picture and sound improved, new gains in technology have ...

Pros: Wonderful quality images, easy setup, easy to use. Stunning. Worth every penny! Cons: None.
Like many others, I spent about 3 months reviewing different HDTV products and manufacturers for Plasmas, Rear Projections and LCD's. It came down to three to choose from, the Pioneer Plasma, the Sony Rear Projection and the Sony XBR4 LCD. All needed to ...

A Fine LCD TV
by dgordon1 ,Oct 16 '07
Pros: Easy installation and nice picture. Cons: None.
I located this 46" Sony LCD set for a 12'x24' living room because mounted on the 12' wall it was very visable from almost anywhere on the opposite wall.
I mounted the 46" LCD TV over a false fireplace, running an electrical connection and a cable connection up inside the wall to outlets located behind the wall bracket. This was easy and the cables are hidden. The set weighs about 80 pounds including the bracket so I made sure the installation was sturdy. I made a cardboard template for it and the 52" Sony and decided the 46" size worked the best in this 12'x24' room. A template gives you a good perspective and I would recommend using one before deciding on a size.
Setting up the clicker and set was very easy. I used the default settings. The Comcast clicker interfaced nicely with this LCD. The picture coming from (1) the ComCast high def. cable box and (2) my regular DVD player (not Blue or HD) is very nice.
The speakers are good and can put out lots of power at high volume settings.
