Pros: Great DTS sound, small speakers Cons: Interface is clumsy, subwoofer buzzes
Having recently moved into an apartment, I wanted to get a surround sound system to fill my 16x20 foot living room. I used to own a Sony 5.1 system and was very happy with it, so when I found this system at a great price - I decided to give it a try. I ...
Pros: Good sound, relatively easy set up Cons: Few cables, chintzy speaker wire
Less than $300 will get you this system that is pretty easy to set up and gives you high quality sound that can fill the room, although it will not shake the walls.
This "home theater in a box" comes with the receiver, 4 micro speakers, a...
Pros: Easy set up, great sound, powered sub. Cons: Cheap speaker wire.
My wife purchased this system for me as a Christmas gift from Best Buy. (I actually picked the unit out and hinted wildly about it for a few months prior). At any rate, I already own a DVD player, so I was in the market for a decent receiver with ...
Pros: Great sound from a compact system. One box=complete system. Cons: Could use a little more oomph.
Recently got a JVC 32260 TV. Thanks to the awful built in speakers but the GREAT picture and even better price I decided I could get this for the difference of a set with better audio.
Being new to this type of product I'm not up on all the...
Pros: Dolby Digital, DTS, Speakers Excellent, Subwoofer included, all cables included, great price Cons: Subwoofer a little too wide
The HT-DDW740 is GREAT! Everything is very easy to set up, and operate. There is really not a lot to say. The ONLY thing I don't like about it is that the subwoofer is a little too wide. That is it. Everything else is excellent! Dolby Digital and...
Pros: Cheap, complete, powered subwoofer, it all sounds pretty good -- amazing value Cons: Not audiophile quality, I'm sure
I spent more than I intended buying the projector, the screen, and the new DVD player... so when it came time for the Dolby Digital surround-sound receiver/speaker set, the budget was shot. Enter Sony with a complete setup, for under $300. How bad...
Pros: Good sound, Good features. Cons: Needs more power
I got this system for a Christmas Gift. It has a very good sound to it. But one problem is that it doesn't seem to get to loud. But hey, it's sitting in my little room. How loud do I need it?
Pros: Great Price, bought locally (No shipping Charges) Cons: Could use a little more power
This product was the perfect purchase for me and my wife's home viewing needs. Unlike many of the home theater systems available this one has plenty power for the average size living room and the sound is amazing, especially with a DVD playing.

Pros: Good product for a good price. Can you ever go wrong with a Sony? Cons: None
I have had this system for quite a while now. One of the great things about this system is that it will give you all the inputs you will ever need to have on a receiver. The sound quality is awesome. Once you have the speakers setup and configured...
Pros: Good sound quality Cons: Do not have built-in hooks for wall-mounting
This is a great HT system for those who already have a DVD player. The sound quality for this system is very good. The sound coming out the center speaker is bright and rich.
When I narrowed down my choice between this Sony and the Kenwood 306, I compared the sound of the two side by side. When the volume is turned up at medium high ( somewhat higher than normal listening volume), the Kenwood starts to produce very noticeable hiss noises from the satellite speakers and the sound from center speaker starts to have noises. While the Sony does not have the noises and the sound becomes even brighter and having more depth at the higher volume.
