Pros: graphics, settings Cons: plot, characters, length of game
If you look for a graphics in a game, buy Final Fantasy VIII. If you want more than a shallow game with good graphics, buy Final Fantasy VII. This game doesn't live up for many reasons. Granted, the graphics are amazing, as Square once again shows us...

Pros: Characters, graphics, battle system Cons: too rushed
While the gameplay seems very rushed, unlike FFVII and FFVI, the characters are by far the most realistic yet. I had strong moments of hating Rinoa or Squall, moments of identifying with Seifer... They all have their flaws, they all have their strengths....

Pros: Amazing graphics and animations, overall fun to play. Cons: Very long. Very, very long.
This game is amazing to watch, especially when the game takes over and animations are shown. During fight scenes, the action is very clear and awesome, especially magic, but nothing can surpass the elaborate guardian force animations. Some of them...

Pros: great graphics Cons: repetitive
Let me start off by saying that I am a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series. I have spent many hours from the series time on the NES to its super Nintendo days all the way up to the glorious spectacle that is Final Fantasy VIII. I waited with...

Pros: Great graphics and film sequences Cons: being unable to play nonstop
Final Fantasy 8 is one of the best games i have ever played! I have been a long time fan of video games as it is but never a big fan of roleplaying games as I have always thought them to be very similar. However, after seeing the commercials on TV I...

Pros: Movies Cons: Graphics
It was a Friday evening i walk into a nearby Blockbuster looking for a playstation game to rent for the weekend. I look around and don't seem to find anything the I look into the new release section and there it was Final Fantasy VIII. I grabbed the...

Pros: Improved graphics, movies, and story. Cons: Too easy to beat.
FFVIII had its good points. An original plot, the new gunblade for Squall, some references to FFVII (Cloud's Junk Shop), and some humor made for a good game. However, there were equally as many not-so-good points about FFVIII. To begin with, the game...

Pros: i already listed them Cons: these too
Let me start out by saying one thing: don't get me wrong. This is a great game and it was a lot of fun. But why the title? Because some of this game's features aren't quite fitting to the Final Fantasy name. Once again, I have nothing against this game....

Pros: Great game play, awesome graphics, and outstanding full-motion video Cons: Sometimes hard to understand
I have played every Final Fantasy that they have ever made, and this one is the best yet. I bought this game the first day it was released to the public in the U.S. and I have been playing it ever since. When I bought the game I had some trouble with...

Pros: Gorgeous graphics, nice sound, good control Cons: Bland characters, almost no development whatsoever of said characters, very menu-driven, penalizes you for too much exploration, each battle seemingly takes forever, awfully written storyline.
I couldn't wait for this one. I had it prepaid for, I picked it up right on the 9th of September, waited through a huge line of mostly new Dreamcast owners, brought it home, played it for hours . . .
and was vastly disappointed.

Pros: Visuals Cons: ?
You won"t find a better RPG on the PSX this year, or any other year. This game has a long, exciting quest with a lot of plot twists, great gameplay, and the finest graphics you"ll see this year on the PSX. This year"s crummy crop of RPGs...

Pros: Insanely good graphics Cons: Nothing like Final fantasy 7
I enjoy RPG's. This one is the best I've ever seen. Those folks at SquareSoft have done it again!! Final Fantasy 8 is the most involved, well written, realistic game yet. The graphics, either in the animation or real time game play, are fantastic....

Pros: Great graphics Cons: Sometimes confusing
The newest installment in the Final Fantasy series is a must for all Final Fantasy fans. The graphics are awesome. The magic, weapons and transportation are to die for. The game itself is hard to follow sometimes as it switches from time to time. The...

Pros: Wonderful story, great characters. Cons: The magic draw system can be a little tedious.
I have been playing Final Fantasy since the first one came out on the old Nintendo Entertainment system. I played all the ones that came out on north american shores and even the ones that never seen the soil of this great country (thanks to emulators ;)...

Pros: Great movies, deep story, "quick" battles Cons: Lack of maps, useless manual
Yet another reason to buy a Playstation, Final Fantasy 8 is, to be frank, awesome. Ok, I'm not one of those gamers easily impressed by great graphics. But I have to say, this one left me extremely awed by its greatness. As most people know, movies in...
