Pros: FFVIII had some of the best graphics of its time, and still does today. Cons: The battle system isn't bad, but it could be a lot better.
Back in the summer of 1999, I had just gotten a PlayStation, along with Final Fantasy VII and Legend of Legaia. At the time, I was busy gawking at the graphics of FFVII. That fall, however, something caught my attention. I saw in a magazine the words...

Pros: Skill system, Storyline, CG graphic Cons: how can there be anything wrong for Final Fantasy, are you crazy?
Like always, Squaresoft has out-done themselves again. Final Fantasy 8 is probably one of the Best RPG games of all time, since the beginning of time. The Final Fantasy series really lives up to its reputation.
The storyline is fantastic!...

Pros: spectacular graphics, terrific storyline Cons: the battle system makes this game lose major points
Hot on the heels of the incredible Final Fantasy 7, I was really looking forward to Final Fantasy 8. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed.
There are many improvements that FF8 made from FF7. The graphics are better, looking more...

Pros: Great Plot, Graphics, Battles, FUN! Cons: no replay value
Be warned: if you start playing this game, you will not be seen for months. After I started playing Final Fantasy 8, I could not stop. It's just addictive. The game is so complex and the plot is so intricate that you never get bored of it. I sure...

Pros: n/a Cons: n/a
FFVIII has got to be one of the best RPG's ever made. Not THE best, but it ranks up there. It really got engrossed in the story. The graphics were visually stunning. I really had a lot of fun searching for all the different magic everywhere. That really...

Pros: money system , graphics Cons: story line, characters, junction and magic system, basically everything else.
Final Fantasy VIII is a good game in general, but offers nothing new to the rpg genre. Although it has great graphics, the story line, plot twists, and characters are shallow and weak. Square seems to have made this game for gamers who were first...

Pros: Incredible graphics; Complicated storyline; Believable characterizations; Flawless battle system Cons: Obvious gaps in story; Uninspired battles; Characters look older than they are supposed to be
Final Fantasy VIII is the one game that inspired me to purchase a PlayStation for my own use. Having seen one commercial for it and played Final Fantasy VII, I was convinced that this sequel would be the best game ever. Though it did stop a little short...

Pros: Whole thing is great Cons: some parts are long and tedious...but few
The simplest way to put it is that I am addicted to this game.
From the opening credits to the end title this game is great. There are tons of side quests you can take as well as a long and great main story line. There is also a good mix of...

Pros: Music/Graphics/Gameplay/Story Cons: the new Junction/Draw system takes some getting used to
I remember counting down the days to the release of this game. Of course, I was there at the store at 6 in the morning to make sure I got a copy the first day. 4 months later, I'm still trying to find something wrong with this game. I simply can't....

Pros: Graphics, Gameplay, Plot Cons: Music, Dialogue
With Final Fantasy VIII Square has put together what is possibly the most visually impressive game ever. The cuts to the incredibly detailed and life-like FMVs are smooth and unobtrusive. From the very beginning I was stunned by the Guardian...

Pros: Great story and excellent music, also an interesting battle engine Cons: It may be to much like an interactive movie than a true Final Fantasy like the 16 Bit titles
Squaresoft's newest installment on its long line of high quality role playing games has finally arrived. The wait has been well worth it. Final Fantasy has always been known for its great storyline, interesting characters, fantastic music, and, of...

Pros: Best graphic yet, great story, many events Cons: Took out MP system and made a DRAW system, that sucks
The second I started this game, I loved it!! It was the best graphic I've ever seen on any video games I've played. I think it even beats Dreamcast!! I mean, the best programers in the world made this game, how can it be not good?
This game also has...

Pros: Very high quality game, touching plot..... Cons: Require some time to get familiar with the system
Final Fantasy VIII is really beyond description. When I bought this game, I was sure this would certainly be a good game--it's from Square anyway. And when I saw the opening animation of this game, I was really shocked! It's like a movie. The quality is...

Pros: Great storyline, great soundtrack, great graphics, excellent game play, a very long game, very involving, and very unpredictable Cons: May take some time to understand the magic system, not much choice for what happens to you in the story
I personally have been a fan of sci-fi RPGS, or least ones that deal with high technology, and not just magic and castles and such.
While that sort of game is all well and good, the sci-fi ones always have much more freedom, and FF8 excersizes...
