Pros: low water usage, very little detergent required
Cons: needs constant repair, parts are expensive, very loud

We purchased a Staber two years ago and have replaced the motor twice, a pump and pulleys. Additionally, poorly designed screws came loose more than once. Since we are a family of 5, the washer does get a lot of use, but it should not require this much repair in just 2 years of use.

Also, the washer is very loud... I would not recommend a Staber under any circumstances, unless you enjoy repairing it yourself.

Pros: Easy to work on -- very few parts and all are easily accessible.
Cons: Product breaks just outside warranty.  Replacement parts very expensive. Not a good value.

My Staber broke three years after purchase.  The replacement parts are very, very expensive (over 25% of the purchase price of the machine -- can cost you as much as $400 for parts) and they have to be backordered.  It's not worth repairing only to have it break again in another three years.  I urge you to look at other comments on the web regarding product reliability.
