You are asking for trouble if you use Norton 360

by glenhamilton , Jul 20 '07
Pros: Good concept, and good ideas, but the product doesn't work
Cons: Backups are problematic, terrible tech support from India.
Overview: My review rating is not going to be any better than other reviewer opinions on this product. In fact if there were a zero rating possible, that is what I would give to this product. Symantec has a good idea and concept by trying to ...

Steer Clear! This Will Wreck Your Computer!

by olivergripweed , May 01 '07
Pros: None
Cons: Slows down your system Disables Network Adapters Leaves processes running Terrible Tech Support
Since I make my living off of my computer as a writer, I thought I would upgrade my protection and as I've been a fan of other Norton Products (now Symantec) I thought 360 sounded like a great deal. I have a computer with an 80 gig hard drive, 512ram ...

Quirky, but eventually finds it's happy place.

by cruz3 , Oct 09 '07
Pros: Three licenses included. Strong performance and protection.
Cons: Initially intrusive, non-responsive, and a system hog.
[See the update below - this is a two part review.] I was very pleased to see Norton take a step forward and offer a 3 PC license for the new Norton 360 product. Circuit City offered a $40 introductory pricing which was in the same ballpark as my ...

Norton 360 is Garbage - More like a 180...

by velec , Aug 09 '07
Pros: None
Cons: Missing major functionality, overpriced, erases other unrelated Norton software without a replacement; useless suite; garbage
I previously had Norton 2006 Internet Security and System Works. It did everything. Symantec's website currently shows comparisons for the new 2007 individual software suites compared to Norton 360. The chart is very deceiving as it shows that 360 do ...

Norton 360 SUCKS!

by nortonsucks , Sep 25 '07
Pros: Norton 360 isn't quite as bad as being stretched on a medieval torture rack.
Cons: There isn't enough space here to describe how bad this product is.
I've been using Norton Anti-Virus for years, on home machines and when we owned a manufacturing business that had dozens of computers. Norton support has always stunk, but the products usually worked quite well, once you got them set up properly. ...

NOT A VERY GOOD PRODUCT

by lyn2go , Jul 24 '07
Pros: none that I could see
Cons: takes too long to install and scan. Doesn't really seem to work well.
My Norton 2006 System Works had expired. So, I went to an office supply place to replace it. However, they did not have this particular System Works. So, I decided to try out the Norton 360. After reading the box, it seemed to have everything on it that ...

Dumbed Down Protection
by wwgordon ,Jun 05 '07
Pros: Simple, very simple.
Cons: Self canceling!
Having used Norton products since they were still published by Peter Norton, I can say in my experience this is probably the...least challenging product. It would be good for someone who does not want to understand software.

Until it turns itself off. Which it does. Frequently. Unless malicious software is turning it off, which is easy to do, since the only password protection available is for the personal information element of the program. OTHER Norton products allow the user to password protect everything, so it cannot be turned off; 360 does not have this protection.

It's crap! Don't buy it!
by vonwoobie ,Apr 16 '07
Pros: uhhhh. well none.
Cons: Can't select what Hard Drives you want scanned. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/norton360.nsf/pfdocs/2006100413023375
Ok. Maybe some people won't carry about the issue I have with this product but I think other serious computer users will agree it's a major deficiency.

What's the problem! Well apparently you can't select the hard drives you want scanned! So, if as in my case, your system drive is fine but you just want to scan a drive from another computer that is giving you grief. Well you can't! I've never had a product like this where you couldn't select what drives you scan! What a cheesy piece of crap software. Somebody at Symantec is probably pulling in a good $250G a year that had that dumb idea. Ridiculous. Now, I'm in the process of trying to figure how I get the $70 back that I wasted on it. Wonder how many hours I'll have wrapped up in that? Probably better off making it back at minimum wage, take me less time and much more likely to get the money?

extremely disappointed
by lenkearney ,Jul 16 '07
Pros: none
Cons: resource hog, limited functionality, bad support
I have been a fan of Norton products for years- but I can not recommend this product and will be de-installing it and getting someone else's product.

I have a older (4 year old) system and it runs extremely poorly with this software installed. Internet access speed has been cut in half. My wife won't even use the computer.

As mentioned in other posts, many features of earlier versions are missing. The system tells you nothing about what is going on.

Several calls to support has been unsatisfactory as well. I

Not as good as previous versions - a DOWNgrade
by arnybarnes ,May 19 '07
Pros: Easy to use, "comprehensive scan" will download latest definitions, scan, defrag, etc
Cons: No longer can scan individual files, folders, or drives.
I've been using Norton for several years. This one is a big let down because they REMOVED a crucial feature: individual file/folder scanning. Ever download some shareware and have doubts about it? So you right click it and scan it for viruses. NOT ANYMORE. They took that away. You'd have to scan your entire system ( All drives, memory, etc ) to check that file now.

Bloated Junk
by citizenstyle ,May 16 '07
Pros: Installation worked(on my PC)
Cons: Slow, missing user controls, causes major system pauses, prevents some programs from loading every time.
Installation was fine, but it was all downhill after that.
Slow, unresponsive. Programs will not fully load and have to be killed/restarted. Status is never accurate--you will be stuck in a permanent "fix this" loop if you want all green lights--makes it hard to know when your system stops working.
User controls are nothing like Norton Internet Security--and many basic controls do not exist--period.
This is total garbage--just upgrade your Norton Internet security or even switch to McAfee.
It's too bad you can't recoup lost personal time playing with junk like this!
