Pros: More options and versatility than you can imagine, cool, useful Cons: Expensive, signing the contract
I have had a run of bad luck. A couple of months ago I won a Palm Pilot through a work contest and have become very comfortable using it. Well, we has our quarterly meeting a couple of weeks ago and I was informed that we are heading toward the T-...
Pros: Cool factor, versatile, only one device to carry Cons: Expensive, buggy, no SDIO slot
I have been looking for a good converged device that would work on a GSM network. I travel internationally and wanted a phone that would work when I went overseas. After researching the various GSM options available in the US (the new AT&T GSM network,...
Pros: Clear colour screen, handsfree audio, plentiful software, well integrated with phone, good battery. Cons: Annoying bugs in software, GPRS useless, not tri-band, no camera or bluetooth, small memory.
The phone I have is actually sold by O2 in the UK as an "xda" (meaning a PDA converged with a phone), but it appears to be identical in most respects to the T-Mobile Pocket PC. It's actually made by HTC (www.htccorporation.com) in Taiwan. Portabilit ...
Pros: One device to carry, good features, well-integrated phone and PDA features. Cons: Expensive, crashes occasionally.
When my contract expired with AT&T Wireless in August I lost a lot of the free features that were included with my service. It was time to go shopping for service.
Now, to me the choice of phone is pretty important when I look for...
Pros: The universal device, powerful, pretty Cons: Expensive, stability
My previous attempt at PDA/phone convergence, the Handspring Treo 180, ended as a failure. You can read more about why I thought so in a separate review here on epinions. So needless to say, I was skeptical of the T-Mobile Pocket PC Phone and didn't...
Pros: Does virtually everything. Takes SD and MMC expansion memory cards. Cons: Standard phone headsets don't mute device's mic, no SSL email, text msgs cost add'l.
Nowadays, I leave the house with only my keys, a debit card, and my TMobile Pocket PC Phone.
I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. After rebates from Amazon and TMobile, the final cost is approximately $300. I chose the same plan I had...
Pros: A TOTAL computer in my pocket. Cons: Phone crashes (from time to time).
I recently dropped my Handspring Visor PDA, which was coupled with a VisaPhone accessory. My screen was cracked and I fretted not. I thought "Hey, I can just run to any store that carried Handspring Visors, buy one, insert my BackUp Module and be ready...
Pros: Two features in one. GSM network. Cons: Price.
I purchased my unit about six months ago. I first bought the simular product from AT&T. But AT&T's GSM network is still under development. So it did not work around my home. I had to return their product.
But since purchasing my T-Mobile Pocket...
Pros: Compact. Well thought out.Cool looking Cons: Crash, crash, crash. drop call, drop call, drop call. Erratic coverage. System bugs
T-mobile has the most friendly helpful customer oriented people I have ever spoken with in the cell business. This, however cannot substitute for a device that is loaded with problems. And does this device line ever have issues.
Pros: PDA portion worked well enough; bright screen, nice format. Cons: Phone service nonexistent in my area; horrendous customer service.
I bought this item online, so I could receive calls from my patients. I received it 6 days after it was shipped. I understood I had a 21 day trial, free of charge (except for online use), as long as my use was 12 minutes or less. I liked it pretty ...
Pros: Everything you need, all in one place. Cons: Price, locks up every so often.
This is definitely the phone that Inspector Gadget would want. My Palm V died several months ago, so I asked Santa to bring me a T-Mobile Pocket PC for Christmas. After having it for a few weeks, I thought I would go ahead and review it.
Pros: One device, anywhere in the world Cons: A bit large; inconvenient if you don't have a hand's free kit
One device, anywhere in the world (GSM) - the dream is here - I was really frustrated at first with the lost calls and hanging 5 times a day, but they now have a patch out and after installing it, I have had almost NO instances of hanging. A new keyboard...
This is quite possibly the worst electronic device I have ever owned in terms of functionality and reliability. I have had TMobile service with the Pocket PC for 8 months and TMobile has had to replace my phone twice. The problems continue: frozen screen, inability to make and/or answer calls, phone answers on speaker automatically, people complain about hearing an echo, and the list goes on and on. Do not buy this phone! TMobile fails to recognize that there may simply be a defect in this product. My business partner has the same device and all the same problems plus a "button" on her phone gets stuck so she hears a constant beeping!
Pros: It was pretty good while it worked. Cons: It keeps breaking.
Battery died at 11 months. Replacement phones batterynow dying at 4 months, and no longer covered by warranty. In addition, Ive had the problems mentioned by others: crashes, echoes, delayed messages, etc. I would never buy this device again. Basically, Ive lost the $400 I paid for this thing.
