Pros: New characters, much more action and magic use Cons: Jordan's overuse of pronouns, too long
The Great Hunt is the second out of the ten novels that make up Robert Jordan's massive Wheel of Time series. Each book is at least 600 pages long and includes a glossary so that you can keep up with all the different people and places in this ...

Pros: The Characters Get Deeper, Fast-Paced Storytelling Cons: Leaves You Scrambling For The Third Book
I have to say that while I did enjoy the first installment of Robert Jordans Wheel of Time series, The Eye of the World, I felt it did have its limitations, and that the further installments looked to be better. After reading the...

Pros: Good characterization, further explanation of this world, excitement, mysteries building up. Cons: Only the second long-winded installment of an epic that will be at least(!) 12 books.
Of course you've already read The Eye of the World, the first volume of the Wheel of Time fantasy epic. Otherwise why on earth would you want to read a review of the second installment in the series? Be warned that the Wheel of Time is very...

Pros: All new characters and plots are added to the adventure Cons: It's huge, raises more questions about what is going on than providing answers
In the Age of Legends, an artifact was created that would bring back the long dead heroes to battle for the wielder of the Horn of Valere. But the Horn was lost during the Breaking of the World, and over the Ages that have passed, The Great Hunt...

Pros: Makes more sense, the villian remains technically the same, but is still interesting Cons: Filling Material is less interesting than Eye of the World
If you compare this book to The Eye of the World, the first book in the series, you realize it's about as good as the first book. When I read this book and compared it to its predecessor, it is easiest to divide it into three acts, like a movie. ...

Pros: As good as the first book. Cons: The time you'll spend reading the series.
THE WHEEL OF TIME

Pros: Jordan knows how to make readers care for characters Cons: Uses many terms that requires a glossary to organize
The Great Hunt, Robert Jordan's second book in his Wheel of Time series, has a lot more going on than the actual hunt for the horn of valere, the legendary horn that, when sounded, brings back long-dead heroes of old. Half of the book deals with the...

Pros: Awe-inspiring details and storyline Cons: The length (as with the rest of the series)
The magnificent series that was begun with 'The Eye of the World' continues on, in even more splendor, majesty, and adventure than it's predecessor. This book focuses on 'The Great Hunt for the Horn' in the same world as Book 1. Taking on right where the...

Pros: The book can not be put down. Cons: This book can NOT be put down.
Book two picks up right where book one left off and carries you into new and untold mysteries and adventures. This book begins to show you more of the world that the Wheel of Time weaves. Much like the first book, it begins slowly, and continues to...

Pros: detailed, suspenseful description Cons: must read the 1st book to understand
"The Great Hunt" is my favorite in the series. It is a continuous suspense filled novel. This book reminds me of the gleemans' tale, "The Hunt for the Horn" tales involving legendary character's in the Wheel of Time World. This...

Pros: A great sequel to the Eye of the World! Cons: Nothing new is added to the Fantasy genre.
After reading the Eye of the World (first in the Wheel of Time series), I literally went out and bought as many books in the series as I could. The book was simply incredible! 'The Great Hunt' picks up where 'Eye of the World' left off, showing Rand...
