During the month of January my curriculum for my daycare children revolves around snow, snowmen and hibernation. Since we’ve had quite a bit of snowy weather since early December this seems like a fitting time to discuss the beautiful white fluff that ...
Pros: Timeless story about snow in the city, beautiful illustrations Cons: none
Probably the best thing about having kids is getting to relive your own childhood. Growing up in the Northeast, I remember watching for the first big snowfall of the winter, listening to the radio for the official announcement that school was canceled...

This past Friday, March 11th, my young daughter and I shared a beautiful moment. While a lovely light snowfall drifted gently past the windows of her room, we cuddled together on the floor, reading the classic picture book The Snowy Day. What ...
Pros: A Nice Story To Read To Young Ones Cons: None
Unlike many of you, who probably read this story or had it read to you as a child, I was first introduced to it about fifteen years ago while attending college. It was one of the highly recommended children’s books by the professor. Most Caldecott...

Its so simple and full of color and it just brings back happy memories of my childhood. I would recommend this book be read by all children of all ages.
