Tide to the Rescue
by tessn ,Jul 27 '06
Pros: Great product. Easy to use and gets the job done.
Cons: None really.
I have been using Tide To Go for approximately three months and have found that not only does it work, but, it does a fantastic job of making fresh food stains disappear. It is easy to use and not too expensive. I keep one pen in my desk at work and another in my purse. Don't want to be caught without Tide To Go!

Tide to Go is GREAT!!
by yellowrose66 ,Aug 12 '05
Pros: It's handy; it's compact; it's convenient and easy and, even more important, IT WORKS!
Cons: I found nothing negative about this product - it's GREAT!
During a recent flight, the pressure evidently caused an ink pen to expand and leak all its ink into the zippered compartment of my purse. When I dove into the compartment for my thumbnail backup and discovered this mess, I used the Tide to Go and it worked wonders. The lining is now clean and dry and I don't have ink all over my nails and hand when I go to retrieve things. We had just bought these the day before to keep in our office and I've now put one in each salesman's car and desk. Great work Tide; keep it up!

Works Half The Time
by mdkl ,Nov 15 '05
Pros: Works good on whites
Cons: The smell. Not good on dark clothing or greasy stains.
I've used this on several stains and have had varying results. I find it does very well on white clothing. But not anything that has the slightest amount of grease in it (which most food spills do). It did get out chocolate milk stains. It doesn't do good on dark colored clothing. It removes some of the stain, but you still have a spot, just a different color. My biggest complaint is the smell. I've read other reviews that said there was little to no smell, so maybe I just got a "rotten" one. It almost smells like sulfur. Either way, I think I'd rather keep my stains than to deal with that smell.

Blueberry Pie Juice Vanished
by drdean ,May 06 '06
Pros: Easy to use, removes purple juice, works better than advertised.
Cons: None.
I was eating blueberry pie while wearing a white shirt. Now I know that tomato is attracted to white shirts but I didn't think blueberry juice was also attracted to white. Although I was very careful I noticed a blueberry had climbed out of my plate and sat itself on my shirt, oozing purple/red/blue juice. I immediately soaked the stain but it stubbornly clung to my shirt. It liked it there, I guess. I saw an ad for the Tide to go stain remover and not knowing it would not remove blueberry juice I used it according to directions. Miracle of miracles, it removed all of the purple/blue stain and after the shirt dried I could not tell where the errant blueberry had been. I also tried it on a pant stain but although it lessened the quality of stain it did not remove it. But I only bought it for the blueberry, so I am quite satisfied.

It works, but the tip is way too small
by streetluv ,Aug 09 '06
Pros: the liquid
Cons: the applicator
No one can deny that the Tide-to-go solution (the liquid inside of the bottle) does work to remove stains. It's the applicator that is the problem. That tiny tip that makes it a gimmicky "pen" is what makes the product impractical and limits my ability to give it a great review.

I have been caught with a stain just before a business meeting or going inside a crowded restaurant and have had to use te product for tiny drips/dribbles but can't say that the product is all that effective on stains that are larger than a quarter.

That said, if tide were to consider changing the packaging on that great solution that they've bottled, they could go far. If the liquid was inside of, like, a deodorant roll-on bottle or something else that's still RELATIVELY small but not so tiny that the applicator invalidates the strength of the solution.

Looking for a Tide to Go because it's the best I know
by mimijel ,Jun 26 '07
Pros: Most stains come off immediately.
Cons: Doesn't work on all stains, like tomato and some fruits.
I was on the Net looking to purchase a Tide to Go and came across an Epinions.com's review of the stick. After reading a few of them, I'm still going to purchase a few, but I think I'll also try a few other products.

I live in Europe and happened to purchase the Tide to Go for the first time just before moving here. I tried it on a few stains my daughter made and really liked how they just disappeared with a touch of the marker tip. I do recall it didn't work on every stain, but I'm very pleased so far. I hate that it doesn't hold more product.

Once it was gone, I purchased a European brand, Eau Ecarlate and it doesn't work half as good. If you know of a better compact, stain-disappearing product, please let me know!!!

Tide To Go! It's Good, but it's not that great!
by ron77stud ,Mar 28 '07
Pros: Easy to carry, works on small stains,
Cons: it can dry up, doesn't work big stains, and some stains it can't remove!
Don't you hate it when it happens! You have meal, and you spill something on you. The folk at Tide thought they came up with something. It's called Tide To Go. I've used it for 2 years, and it's a good idea. It's great for those who travel. It removed a lot of spills before they became stains. On one hand, it's a life saver. On the other hand, it's not a perfect tool. There are times when the tip dries. In addition, it doesn't work on dry stains. It's best to act fast, and you need to have it on you at all times. It works well, but it still needs some work.

by cheekarene ,Sep 14 '07
Pros: works great on colored clothes
Cons: dont use on anything white
i love my tide stain stick-except on white shirts. it leaves a permanent yellow stain on white clothing. if anyone knows how to remove the yellow stain please let me know. i've tried oxy clean, straight tide with the brush,it didnt work, and i tried the clorox stick and it didnt remove the yellow stain either. but for ALL other stains it's a miracle. i always manage to get something on me during my lunch hour and i dont carry a change of clothes. tide stick works!!!

SMELLS LIKE LINGERING FART.
by mamadena ,Jul 12 '06
Pros: removed all the stains no problem
Cons: smell. please change the smell. I love the product not the smell
I was at church and used it, and people were turning around with that "what is that smell" look. You would expect it to smell good at least, Hello, It it TIDE. but it smells like a bad gas passer.
It worked on the stains though.
I would buy it again

Saved my wedding dress!!
by letyvv ,Mar 29 '08
Pros: it works. relatively cheap. worthwhile to have this in your car for emergencies.
Cons: wasteful packaging. should be refillable. harmful chemicals.
my fiancee bought this on a whim from a 50 cent sale bin.

i though it was odd since we never use these types of things like fabric softener or even bleach.

im so glad he did though because when my wedding dress came in from the supplier it had a red pen stain on the front! i was so sad but i loved the dress so much.

i decided to try the pen first in an inconspicuous spot then straight on the stain.

like magic it came off slowly but completely.

the trick seems to be to "shake" the stain out by rubbing on the fibers.

this is a polyester dress.

i have also used this on white cotton stained with pomegranate juice and it also worked perfectly.

Coffee on bright yellow slacks - GONE!
by floridaopinion ,May 09 '06
Pros: The whole office is amazed at the results.
Cons: None so far.
This morning I spilled coffee on my bright yellow dress slacks. I grabbed my Tide to Go and dabbed, rubbed, and viola, the spot was gone! Imagine my surprise when I looked back to see that not only was the coffee gone; there wasn't even a ring around the spot when it dried.

Great idea, one big flaw...
by monkeyman31 ,Jun 02 '07
Pros: -overall works well (varies on type of stain of course)
Cons: -expensive -perhaps not worth the money (read review)
This products effectiveness was surprising to me at first, of course it doesn't work as well with some stains as with others (which is expected), but for the most part it made enough of a difference to impress me. I was very happy with the product until after a few uses where I had a small stain on my shirt and applied the marker and it smelt horrible! The shirt completely stunk afterwards and no amount of febreeze could get it out, had to wash it and I just did the previous day. Apparently the food particles from use on prior stains stick to the marker tip and rot. From this point onwards the marker just spreads this foul odor to anything it touches. This is a problem as the marker isn't exactly cheap and this problem happened to me only after the 5th use or so and I still have 3/4 of the marker left. Now I feel that this product isn't worth the money if it must be thrown away prematurely.

Tide to go away - A waste of money
by judygee ,Jul 04 '07
Pros: Very convenient to carry, no chance of spillage
Cons: Even when it seems to work (rarely) the stains come back
It has never worked on anything I have tried it out on removing. The stain fades, or even gets brighter (instead of lighter). In any case, I find the pen really hard to use because even when bearing down with all my might on the blue "press" instructions, I don't think anything much comes out. Plus, the scent is atrocious. I might have bought a bad one, but every time I see it in my purse, and realize what a jerk I was to buy it, I get mad all over again. I will be looking for something else for stain removal on the go, and I heard something about a spray, so I will try that. Rats! I wish I could send tide back and get my money back. What an annoying way to throw away money.

Miracle Worker
by nycchicklet ,May 29 '07
Pros: Removes the stain immediately
Cons: Slight smell - must be the enzymes
Really - it's just like in the commercials. You have a stain, you whip out your pen, you rub it on the spot and the spot disappears. 5 minutes ago I dropped a quarter-sized glob of salsa on tan pants. I rubbed on the Tide-to-Go and now there is there is no stain and the area is dry. It's like it never happened!
