Beware high price for Tiny Personal Firewall
by pgou101789 ,Apr 21 '04
Pros: Tiny Personal Firewall offers effective protection against hackers and a variety of internet viruses. Cons: Tiny Personal Firewall is comparatively overpriced, and the telephone support they sell seems non-existent.
Tinysoftware, the company that makes Tiny Personal Firewall, is no longer free. This company is also careful to avoid including the following information on their website (fewer people would buy their product) but if you're considering buying this product you should know that in addition to the $50 you must pay for the software license, you must continue to pay $37 (25% discount off the $50 original price) each time you wish to upgrade to the newest version. Assuming they come out with at least two upgrades a year, a customer will end up paying $75 per year for a firewall. When you consider that you can get a good firewall for free (check out www.nonags.com) Tiny Personal Firewall is over-priced. Even their payware competitor, Networkice, which makes the firewall "Blackice", charges only $25 per year renewal. Also, try getting a hold of Tiny Personal's telephone support:(408)919-7360. I've been trying for a week and they never return my call. Would you believe they sell this telephone support? If you're bent on purchasing this product, make sure you bring along your jar of Vasoline.
