Big Bang For The Buck, Especially If You Pick Up A Used Police Unit!

by Birdfeather Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200
Jul 24 '05

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Fast, Smooth Ride, Handles Great!
Cons: No CD Player In Mine!
The Bottom Line: The bottom line is enjoying the summer!

My dad is a regular auction shopper. He bought two Chevrolet Caprice Classics, one for me and one for my mom. While not really thrilled about having a car identical to my mom's (color also), I needed a car at the time and the price was right! ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Very strong outright performance, Price, Gas Mileage
Cons: Dashboard, Fake looking simulated wood, Resale, Ac could be colder
The Bottom Line: A Surprising sleeper, tons of room, and good gas mileage, the Caprice classic is most definitely recommended for anyone in the used 'full sized car' market.

Bought in 1994, my Grandmothers Caprice classic LS, among all the other LT1 powered V8 Caprice's were faster than many sports cars of this time period. The Chevy Caprice, while it was in production, always offered class leading value, and the ...

Pros: Very strong outright performance, Price, Gas Mileage
Cons: Resale
The Bottom Line: A Surprising sleeper, tons of room, and good gas mileage, the Caprice classic is most definitely recommended for anyone in the used 'full sized car' market.

The base engine in '94 was a 4.3 liter V8 with ohv that produced an adequate 200 HP (more power than the older 305 CI V8 powered Caprice's)engine, acceleration is nothing shy of astonishing. Looking at this car, the first thing that comes to mind is...

Fun police car.

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Big, safe car, with good power, and good suspension, for a good price.
Cons: Some work probable upon purchase.

I should first point out that I don't drive the civilian version of this car. I bought an ex-police cruiser. The police version has some added bonuses over the civilian version. A heavy-duty suspension. LT1 engine, rated at 260 HP, and 330 ft/lbs....

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Big, safe, powerful, people always give the right away :-)
Cons: It is a "Impala SS" so parts are expensive
The Bottom Line: Get it, it's a great car for young and old alike. Relatively cheap cars. Good bang for the buck.

I just got my car, which is a caprice classic 9C1(Ex cop car), about one month ago. I paid 3600 for it and it had 101,000 miles on it. I got interested in these cars at first because of reports of them going over 300,000 miles without major breakdowns...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Comfort, reliability, power, style, EVERYTHING!
Cons: Getting harder to find!
The Bottom Line: I love my wagon, and would recommend one to my dearest friend. Not a complaint in the world - and that says a lot for a vehicle.

I was fortunate enough to find my 1994 Caprice Classic wagon on Craigslist, after having done a whole lot of research on the vehicle. I cannot say enough for this machine - I never understood how someone could actually Love a vehicle. Now I get it. ...

Pros: great car
Cons: cup holder, spare tire

I have a 1994 Caprice Classic. We bought it two years ago (1998). I loved the car. The same owner had it until we bought it. So of course once we bought it, everything went wrong. Needed new battery, alternator, some electrical piece, etc. Most of it was...

My 1994 Caprice Classic - A dependable and comfortable vehicle.
by ravikw

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Driving comfort, manouverability, pickup and absolutely dependable.
Cons: Fuel consumption, and needs tuning during season changes
I own a 1994 Caprice Classic 5.7 Liter LTZ Sedan since 2003. I drive it to work and to other places in Kuwait and find that the plus plus points are the driving comfort, speed pickup and a high degree of manouverability. Other good features are low maintenance cost and high dependability, and ready availability of low cost spares.

The negative points are fuel consumption ( which hardly matters in Kuwait) and the need to tune up the Engine at every season change.

Overall, it is a pleasure to own and drive my car.
