Pros: Acceleration. Phenomenal braking. Body styling. Hardtop convertible. Front seat comfort/adjust. Supercar performance. Benz comfort.
Cons: Hard cornering. Rear tires not wide enough for 600 HP. 12 MPG. Sound system.
The Bottom Line: Easy to drive car with 600 HP. Not sure if anyone other than Mercedes offers this "stock" for so little money.
I've had my SL for about 18 months now. This car is fun to drive and does get noticed. Disappointing that Mercedes didn't do more advertising - many people don't know what an SL is until they see it.Overall this car is great and I don't regret paying ...

Pros: Great control, good power, luxurious hard top convertible.
Cons: Small rims, bad gauges, 5 speed automatic.
The Bottom Line: There is much room for improvements. The 2008 model may be better, so be patient and wait for improvements before buying one.
The SL55 AMG is probably a car that I wanted to get since it came out, and recently, I finally decided to get rid of my SL600 and get the '06 SL55 AMG. The look and feel of this car is great, a hard top convertible is definitely better than the one ...

Pros: Ride, handling, sophistication, simplicity of controls, quietness, comfort, useful features, solidity, styling, power, sound.
Cons: Summer tires, Bose bass, noisy 9-speed fan, lacks all the wood trim available, painted grille.
The Bottom Line: Awesome example of Teutonic perfection in engineering, execution, and assembly. The SL is the fabled Lorelei and performs so well that it seduces the driver. Another Mercedes to love.
