Pros: ooh so comfortable-V8 goes like rocket-tranny shifts FIRM like it should Cons: 17 MPG, everyone wants to race to find out what they already suspect.. it's fast! The Bottom Line: Don't be scared...take a test drive ok..It's made in USA by US workers and contains as many US parts than other trucks too.. make your own decision..
I USED TO BE a GM and Ford Flat-Rate Mechanic in a dual Dealership. I diagnosed and repaired driveability complaints, engine and transmission problems, electronic circuits and everything else in between... I wanted a new full-size truck, but ...

Pros: Looks good, drives great, quiet, Toyota quality. Cons: Smaller than Ford-Chevy -- as if that matters.
First production year brake glitch. The Bottom Line: I like it a lot: stylish, quality construction. Pretty speedy too: 0-60mph in less than 8.0 sec. Easy to drive.
(See 08/06/2005 update below.) I had several *thousand* reasons ($$$) to go with a Ford, but I chose the Toyota Tundra. Why? I will tell you here. I could have received several thousand dollars discount on a Ford truck -- Citibank Visa Ford dollars, ...

Pros: V-8 with Toyota reliability, roomy, versatile, SUPER SMOOTH Cons: Bland styling compared to others
Toyota proves it can be done. Truck ruggedness and versatility with car-like smoothness. It's true, others have not gone far enough.
Styling is usually the first thing one notices about a car or truck, and I have to say this is the only...

Pros: Dependability, fit-and-finish Cons: Initial cost and fuel usage The Bottom Line: Buy it. It will last longer and have much fewer problems than anything Detroit produces.
The Tundra is the best driving, riding, and performing truck I have ever owned.
After my previous domestic truck died, I started looking at the market. The Toyota sold me on the first "date." Look underneath. Everything is undercoated or...

Pros: size, underseat storage, excellent suspension Cons: cramped back seat, only automatic trans. available with v8
Being a MOPAR man, I usually don't have rave reviews of foreign vehicles. The new Toyota Tundra TRD has completely changed my mind. Though it doesn't feel like driving a full sized pickup, the Tundra offers everything a full size has and is much easier...

Pros: Nice ride, good V8 power, solid feel Cons: Price, few options, annoying problems The Bottom Line: Good power, good handling for truck duties. Hope Toyota addresses/solves the vibration problem someday.
Jan 2004 - This is an update to the original review of my 2000 Toyota Tundra V8 SR5 Plus Cab. I was pretty frustrated when I reported the vibration troubles in my initial review. Well, since then, I've learned that about 98% of that problem was ...

Pros: smooth ride, quiet, powerful, reliable, comfortable Cons: They should have gone ahead and made it really full-size, paint isn't up to usual Toyota standards
I bought a '2000 Tundra SR5 access cab 2wd last fall. So far, I love the vehicle. I bought it because I wanted a reliable truck that I could buy and keep for years, rather than selling when the warranty was up. I also wanted a four door extended cab...

Pros: Great Power, Nice Package, Very quiet, Smooth Ride Cons: Cost, Backseat Space, Driver Visibility The Bottom Line: If driving a truck to you means stiff suspension, poor handling, considerable lean, and sluggish power, the Tundra is not for you.
This is not a truck, it's a dream. I test drove a Tundra when I was looking at the Highlander a few months back (review to come). After emerging disappointed from that mini-suv, I told the salesman I wanted something large enough for four with good...

Pros: Acceleration, Fit & Finish, Styling, Handling Characteristics Cons: Rear Seat Room, Fuel Mileage
Pros:
I purchased my Toyota Tundra in September, 1999 and as far as full-size trucks go, this is the best I've ever owned. I have owned a 1995 full size regular cab Chevrolet pickup, a 1997 full size extended cab Chevrolet C1500, and a 1999 Club...

Pros: Engine, Fit and Finish, 4X4, Cons: Horn, Air Condition weak, Frt Seats need work for tall people
About Me: My friends believe I am crazy because every time I saw them I have been talk about getting a truck. This went on for two years. After I decided that I “wanted” one (note: not “needed”) because I bought a house out in the country were 4 wheel...

Pros: Handsome truck, smooth, powerful ride, roomy, fast, high off ground like an all-wheel truck Cons: soft, easy-to-ding bumpers, front doors are heavy and won't stay open The Bottom Line: Tundra is well worth the money. It is perfect for those who want style, luxury, power, and usefulness from their truck.
I bought this truck mainly because I liked the looks of it. I had previously owned a 2000 Toyota Tacoma, regular cab, 4 cylinder, manual transmission, no power, etc. The Tundra is an upgrade for obvious reasons, but I still like it much better than...

Pros: Power to spare, comfort, great looks! Cons: Had to wait for my truck cause they could not keep them in stock.
In my 18 years of driving 15 of them have been in Toyota's so I'm speaking from experience when I say this one is the best yet. I've had the 1985 hi-lux solid front axel 22-r work-horse of a truck that I bought new in 85', just traded($5500.00)it for a...

Pros: Great Styling, Powerful Engine, Safe, Comfortable, good standard stereo, Toyota reputation, TRD options Cons: Short/Shallow Bed, Expensive, poor gas mileage The Bottom Line: I would definitely recommend the 2000 Toyota Tundra for it's good design, powerful engine, and solid reliability.
After one failed attempt at building a full-size truck (the T100), Toyota finally did it right - The Tundra.
My 2000 Toyota Tundra has been a rock-solid vehicle ever since I drove it off the lot 7000 miles ago. It's been exactly what I...
