Pros: 6-speed gear box, A boat load of options, Good fuel economy, Superior handling Cons: Toyota could have pumped out more power from this engine, Price. The Bottom Line: While not as powerful as I would like my sports car to be, the Toyota Celica GT-S does represent a good value.
First introduced in 2000, the current generation Celica was, and still is a very fun car to drive. With the Supra out of production in the U.S since 1998, Toyota relies on the Celica to be the flagship in their performance biased category.

Pros: Stylish, economical, reliable. Cons: Grasshopper quick, but lack of serious muscle (GT). The Bottom Line: Worth taking a look at if you're in the market for a reliable and economical car that doesn't look/feel boring.
UPDATE: 20,000 miles. I ended up getting another "beater" car, so I've been able to skimp on the mileage driven on the Celica. Here are a few additional observations since I authored this review 10,000 miles ago. The hazard lights (blinkers) ...

Pros: Peppy enough for daily drivers. Great Interior design. Cons: Low visibility out of back. The Bottom Line: If you can afford the GT-S, get it, however if you just want the looks and comfort or can't afford the GT-S, get the GT, its the next best thing.
After coming from a 93 Mitsubishi Mirage the 140 hp and 125 torque was plenty for me. I tried not to take the car over 4500 rpm for the first few hundred miles, however it was hard considering the car feels like it needs to be driven. I did notice a...

Pros: Unique Styling, comfortable seats, attention getter Cons: Noisy engine and steering, can get a little pricey with added features The Bottom Line: I am very satisfied with the performance and look of the car. Be sure to haggle your way to a good fair price!
The Toyota Celica 2002 GT-S is a great all around sporty coupe with nice upgrades as an option. My white Celica came with the Action Pakage which comes with a rear spoiler and a body kit called "rocker panels". The rear spoiler is adjustable and you have...

This car first came out for the model year 2000. I was deciding to either get the Celica GTS or the Honda Prelude. I ended up getting the Honda Prelude. Yes, I love my Prelude but thats a different story. Lets talk bout the Celica.

I have a 2002 Toyota Celica GT with 107,000 miles on it. If you are considering buying a celica I would highly recommend it if you are in the market for a small, sporty, gas efficient car. The celica GT has a 1.8 liter 140hp engine that gets 28 city 33 ...

Pros: This car has great gas mileage, priced decent, has a lot of great standard features. Cons: Has a recall on the fuel system and gasoline. The Bottom Line: This is a vehicle that is good for some people but not others. Toyota is a great vehicle just this model is not always the best for most people.
This car has had a recall on it. So if thinking about buying this car you need to know if this problem has been fixed on this car yet. the recall stated "ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE FUEL TANK CHECK VALVE, LOCATED IN THE FUEL TANK INLET PIPE, MAY ...

control,Relaxed position in cockpit.
Fair price. Cons: Low to the ground, stiff shocks let you know about every bump in the road. The Bottom Line: If you are in the market for a sport coupe that you will love to drive. The 2002 Celica should be on your list of cars to test drive.
After realizing I was running my Jeep Grand Cherokee to its death driving on the South west Florida Interstate. 600 miles a week. 70-75 mph(speed limit 70). With 15-16 mpg average. I started looking for a quick economical sports car. I wanted something...

Pros: Looks awesome, great pick-up, absolutely fun to drive! Cons: It's a little to low to the ground and easy to scrape the front underside. The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a speedy, reliable, sexy car, look no further. I'd highly recommend owning a new Celica once in your life!
I had previously owned a 2000 Celica GT and it was a fantastic little car. If I hadn't know it only had four cylinders under that hood, I never would have guessed it. It performed like I always thought a sports car should. Great pick-up at the go and...

Pros: Nice looks, good sounding engine. Cons: Shift throws could be made shorter, lack of torque. Quite common now on the roads. The Bottom Line: A good first-car for anyone. Looks faster than it actually is.
Overall, a good ride w/ decent engine. Forget about having anyone in the backseat because there is no room. Unfortunately, Toyota did some cut-downs to save on money and it's quite evident in the lack-lustre paint job and interior. If you are a...

Pros: pretty car Cons: service after purchasing car stinks! The Bottom Line: Do not buy it because they treat you like a queen to get you to sign the deal, but when you need their services they treat you like dirt!
My 2 month old car got a flat tire the other day. So i got someone to put the donut on it. When I began to drive, I noticed that I had hardly any brakes. I thought that this was normal when putting on a small tire. When I got to the auto center, they...
