Pros: Great picture, good sound, nice remote Cons: Limited HDMI ports, accessibility of input and output jacks.
I purchased this television because I was tired of watching the NFL on my 20 inch television. Well, it was a good decision to say the least. I had a total budget of $2000 for a home theater upgrade, with this television taking up $950 of the budget I ...

Pros: Great picture, sound and value. That is what you want out of a TV. Cons: Doesn't have a well known brand name.
After many months of waffling on which type, size and brand of HD television to get, I finally decided on this 42 inch LCD television from Costco. My main decision was based on the fact that I felt that the TV had many features at a low price point. ...

VIZIO L42HDTV- GREAT!
by eemany ,Aug 29 '07
Pros: Integrated NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuner- very user friendly Cons: Just a tad slow at changing the HDTV channels.
I have had this set for about 6 months now and the price has fallen to ~ $900 at Sam's. The picture is great, both in HD and standard definition - the integrated tuner picks up all the free HDTV channels (QAM) on cable and it has all the input connectors I need. You don't need a cable box to use this set unless you want to go for premium channels or upper tier HDTV feeds (DISCOVERY, ESPN, etc)

What bang for the buck
by superstah ,Apr 12 '08
Pros: Great picture, great price Cons: none yet
My wife has been getting on me to get a new TV since our old one is almost 20 years old. We decided to go the cheapest route and bought the Vizio through Costco.
Setting up was pretty easy and it hooked up the Playstation without any problems. The cable was a bigger problem, but I think it has to do more with the cable box than the TV. When the HD channels are working, the pictures are awesome and Blue Ray is definitely worth it.
The screen is 1080p but i think only the Blue Ray truly takes advantage of it. The picture, however, is crystal clear and unfortunately, I have been watching way too much television now. I rarely venture past the 24 or so HD channels nowadays.

Pros: very dependible and great price for what you get Cons: the plastic screen is not sturdy
while searching for that perfect T.V. I came upon a brand that has had great reviews VIZIO they had many styles and models too choose from. My main decision to purchase this product was the fact that it has many features that include: LCD screen, 2 HDMI ports which allow you to plug your computer and camera and camcorder to view pictures and video's also the price televisions are cheap and very dependable. and the picture is crystal clear i can now see things that i missed on my old television.
- great picture
- sound system is ok
- has inputs for all you gadgets

Don't buy Vizio 42" plasma
by milliea ,Jul 06 '08
Pros: None now. Cons: No parts, no service, not worth $1
We had this tv for 2 yrs. and today the half the picture went black and then the whole screen went black. It has volume but that's all. $1499.00! I have found out that Vizio has no service and no parts available so we are screwed. I wouldn't recommend this tv to anyone.

VIZIO LCD TV
by norstarguru ,Dec 26 '07
Pros: Sleek Leaking, Very affordable $900.00 Sams Club. Cons: Black screen when powering on sometimes.
I have had my Vizio for exactly one year now, The picture is great, but I have a had a problem with it since about the second month I bought it.. When turning the TV on it will go to a black screen then you have to turn it off, wait for the tuner to make a click noise then turn it back on, I have been very happy with it though, I have it wall mounted with a Sanyo wall mount surround and dvd. I get many compliments on how sharp it looks.
