We will never shop at Vons.com again. The driver was late and lost, had to call us for directions. 4 very important items were not available, and a whopping 13 receipt items were not delivered. But the wringer was the coupon that we had received in the mail promising free delivery. But upon checkout, we were charged $4.95 for delivery! True, we were given a $9.95 credit. However, the coupon says FREE DELIVERY, no mention of any monetary amount. In effect, what appears to be a full $9.95 credit is, in actuality, a $5.00 credit. So the card was very misleading. When we called to complain, the customer service was abysmal. The customer service folks (we spoke to 3, going higher up the chain of command) ALL tried to justify their actions. Of course they lost us as customers. If they had simply said, "We're very sorry for the misunderstanding, we'll credit your account for the $4.95", we would most likely have shopped with them again. However, we would have been very careful to check out any of their promotions, wise now to how misleading Von's has become with their advertising.

I highly recommend Albertsons for delivery. My one experience with Vons was garbage. I bought a few items that were buy one get one free and they didn't deliver the free item but still charged me full price. I sent customer service an email and they never got back to me. Many stuff was not delivered and the quantity of items were less than I had ordered. Albertsons will do everything to replace those items with another brand even if the price is more without charging you. Vons will charge the difference and like I said on many items just didn't deliver the amount that I ordered. NEVER AGAIN from Vons.

When I first started using this service about two years ago, I was fairly happy with them. However, in the past 4-6 months, they have gone DRASTICALLY downhill. Last-minute cancellations of orders (twice in one week!), items substituted despite a request for no substitutions, drivers running 30-60 minutes later than the two-hour time slot I signed up for, $40 of missing items out of a $200 order -- the list goes on.

While their phone-in customer service is fairly good about giving credits against future orders, they will not give cash back -- money that I already paid, for items I did not receive! -- and they take in excess of 2 business days to respond to emails.

The convenience of ordering groceries online isn't WORTH all this!

It make no sense at all that you can't start a new shopping list without having to one by one clear out the old list. Customer Service provided no assistance with clearing old shopping list. I had 35 items in my cart from a previous order. Customer service told me I had to change each item to zero. What a pain. Evidently the are not serious about providing service for on-line shopping.

I tried Vons online grocery service and they failed to
deliver my groceries -I had requested a 4pm to 8Pm delivery
window, the driver called at around 8:20pm saying he couldnt find my addresss (my aparment)-interesting enough as Pizza hut,
federal express etc, can find me but Vons cant?
Vons customer service told they deliver up to midnight
but the next day I finally located the driver and he told
they stop deliverying at 9:00pm..
the next day I cancelled the order and ask for a refund
oh depending on your bank it might take up to 10 to see
a refund in your account..
result its not very likely I will use Vons com online service anytime soon

Vons.com may be ok as long as you don't order any fresh produce. Lots of soft, moldy (and I mean moldy all the way through, not just spots of mold) onions and bell peppers in my order. Also, the dishwasher detergent I ordered, as described online, was not what I received.

Prices high, but same as in the store--Vons is more expensive than Ralphs or Albertsons imo.

I'd recommend with reservations--no fresh produce. And be sure to specify no substitutions or you'll wind up with a big bag of onions instead of a small package of shallots.
