Pros: A well-written, stirring, and very informative book... Cons: Opens a lot of questions that it leaves unanswered...

Pros: excellent writing, journalism and feel for story Cons: none
This is the story of the genocide in Rwanda in 1994, before and hence. It explains the histories of the Hutus and Tutsis and the intricacies of relationship between them. But primarily it tells a story in the voices of the Rwandans and of the author....
Pros: Original writing style and provides new information about the genocide I'd never heard before. Cons: Strong bias against the international aid given after. It is a secondary source.
I read this book for a World History Class and I found that it was very well written. It was interesting to read because it offered a different style of writing about the genocide. The author is on Rwandan and was not present during the genocide but uses his personal research along with many interviews with genocide survivors to report on the genocide, its history and its lingering impacts.
