Pros: Fast and quiet, good price for quality
Cons: none
Not until about 7 months ago, I thought I was content with my Maxtor 8GB hard drive. I have been using this hard drive since 1997, and it has done quite a fine job. But time has changed. Since January this year, I got seriously involved with working with...

Super fast drive for audio and video.

by fizbeam , Sep 02 '02
Pros: SCREAMING fast, very quiet, great price.
Cons: I don't know what to do with all this space.
This is one of WD's few "Special Edition" drives, identified by the JB part of it's product code. For your info, the product codes are set up like this:

Need more space, try a WD Caviar 120GB HD with 8MB cache.

by peterskm , Oct 25 '02
Pros: Speed, Lots of Space, Low Noise Level, Economical
Cons: None.

Pros: fast, quiet, lots of space
Cons: died in 1 month
Bought it on 11/11/2002 at near CompUSA store with $50 rebate. Needed a bid and fast primary drive for my computer, so I can edit home videos on RAIDed drives. All drives have their own fan-coolers. Gotta do that for fast HDDs.
Worked like a charm....

fast quiet hard drive

by fritztwo , Dec 11 '02
Pros: Very Fast, very quiet, lots of space
Cons: none so far
I bought this drive at a CompUSA store. Got 20 bucks off and used a 30 $ mail in rebate. So my final price was around 160.00 $. I had to buy it. The installation was easy and the hard drive imaging tool was useful too. I copied an image of my existing HD...

This Drive Rocks

by golfjrr , Nov 11 '02
Pros: Large Capacity, Fast, Reliable
Cons: None
I just put two of these in a new system and now have more storage that I know what to do with. The drives seem relatively quiet. I am running them with XP. Beware if you are using 98 or older, you can't by default partition these as one drive as it...
