I first got a Pine Mp3 CD player for christmas of 2000, but was not impressed by its large size and lack of much anti shock memory. I returned it and got the compro MPCD455 and a CD burner with the store credit form the Pine.
Pros: Working resume feature, refuses to skip, very good value Cons: Mine died after a year of car and backpack use
This player worked with Fujifilm 700 Meg CD-Rs. It handled large mp3 files (80-100 megs each) easily, and the resume feature made it practical to listen to them. The sound quality was good (although I'm no audiophile) and the player felt sturdy.
